Bosch Serie 6 Dishwasher: Models, Features and Repair in Dubai
The Bosch Serie 6 is the third of Bosch's four dishwasher ranges, above the Serie 4 and below the Serie 8. Bosch's UAE website lists five Serie 6 models, all freestanding and all 60 cm wide: three in brushed steel, one in brushed black steel and one in white. UAE retailers also sell Serie 6 codes that do not appear on that list, with 13 or 14 place settings, six or seven programs and Home Connect app control.
This guide sorts out what the Serie 6 is, which models are really on sale here, where the sources disagree with each other, how it dries, how it compares with the Serie 4 and 8, and what owning one costs in Dubai, repairs included. It is written by an independent Bosch repair company, not by Bosch and not by a shop. We do not sell dishwashers.
At a glance
- On Bosch's UAE listing: SMP6EMC64M (brushed black steel), SMS6ECI38M, SMS6EMI38M and SMS6ZCI85M (brushed steel) and SMS6ZCW85M (white). The list page gives no place settings, noise or energy figures
- Retailer models: SMS6ECI38M (13 places, AED 4,299 at ACE), SMS6EMI65M (13 places, AED 3,799) and SMS6HMW76M (14 places, AED 3,299). The last two were out of stock when we checked on 2 November 2026
- Home Connect is named on every Serie 6 retailer listing we read, which is not true of the Serie 4 listings
- Drying differs by model. Bosch's series table gives the Serie 6 Zeolith drying and PerfectDry. Bosch's own page for the SMS6EMI38M lists "heat exchanger + drying assist" instead
- Repairs in Dubai: typically AED 160 to 540 before 5% VAT, with a 90-day warranty on our repairs
Bosch Serie 6 dishwasher: where it sits in the range
Bosch numbers its dishwasher series 2, 4, 6 and 8, and the number tells you the feature level. The table below comes from the series comparison on Bosch's Kuwait website, which we use because Bosch's UAE pages do not carry a comparison. Bosch's footnotes qualify several rows, so read it as a general pattern and check the specification of the model you intend to buy.
| Serie 2 | Serie 4 | Serie 6 | Serie 8 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lowest noise level Bosch lists | 46 dB | 40 dB | 40 dB | 40 dB |
| Zeolith drying | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| PerfectDry | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| EfficientDry (door opens at the end) | No | Yes | Listed, footnoted | No |
| Light projected on the floor | No | TimeLight | TimeLight and EmotionLight | TimeLight and EmotionLight |
| Controls | Buttons, LED display | Buttons, LED display | Touch, LED display | Touch, TFT display |
| Extra-deep top rack, ExtraClean Zone | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Quick program | SpeedPerfect | 1-hour program | 1-hour program | 1-hour program |
| Home Connect | Listed | Listed | Listed | Listed |
| Energy rating Bosch lists | Up to A++ | Up to A+++ | Up to A+++ | Up to A+++ (-20%) |
Two things in this table matter more than the rest. The first is that the Serie 6 is where Bosch starts to separate itself from the Serie 4 on drying and controls: Zeolith and PerfectDry appear from the Serie 6 up, and the buttons give way to touch controls. The second is that the Serie 6 has the same listed noise floor as the Serie 4. If quiet is your reason for stepping up, the table does not support it. Drying and the interface are the reasons that hold up.
The footnotes deserve a warning. Bosch's page says the EfficientDry entry for the Serie 6 applies to models without PerfectDry, and that the InfoLight entry applies to models without TimeLight. In other words, the Serie 6 column describes a family of models that do not all carry the same features, and the next sections show that happening in the UAE.
Serie 6 models in the UAE
What Bosch UAE lists
Bosch's UAE free-standing dishwasher page shows five Serie 6 models. It gives the series, width and finish, and no place settings, programs or noise levels.
| Model | Width | Finish | What the listing shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| SMP6EMC64M | 60 cm | Brushed black steel, anti-fingerprint | No extra labels |
| SMS6ECI38M | 60 cm | Brushed steel, anti-fingerprint | Hygiene Certification label, award badge |
| SMS6EMI38M | 60 cm | Brushed steel, anti-fingerprint | No extra labels |
| SMS6ZCI85M | 60 cm | Brushed steel, anti-fingerprint | Award badge |
| SMS6ZCW85M | 60 cm | White | Award badge |
All five are listed as freestanding. We did not see a fully integrated Serie 6 or a 45 cm slimline Serie 6 on that page. We did not see every result, and Bosch sells both formats in other countries, so ask before assuming there is none.
What retailers list
Three Serie 6 codes appear on UAE retailer pages. They give more detail than Bosch's list, and they disagree with each other on some of it. All the figures below come from the retailers, as read on 2 November 2026, not from Bosch.
| Detail | SMS6ECI38M | SMS6EMI65M | SMS6HMW76M |
|---|---|---|---|
| On Bosch UAE's list | Yes | No | No |
| Place settings | 13 (ACE, Sharaf DG) | 13 (ACE) | 14 (ACE) |
| Programs | 6 (ACE, Sharaf DG) | 7 (ACE) | 7 (ACE) |
| Noise | Not listed | 44 dBA | 44 dBA (ACE, Jashanmal) |
| Water | 2,072 litres a year (ACE) | 7.4 litres per cycle | Not listed |
| Energy | 194 kWh a year (ACE) | Not listed | Not listed |
| Size (H × W × D) | 84.5 × 60 × 60 cm | 84.5 × 60 × 60 cm | 84.5 × 60 × 60 cm |
| Weight | 55.31 kg | 53.3 kg | 52.3 kg |
| Home Connect | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Price | AED 4,299, was 5,699 (ACE); D 4,531, was D 4,699 (Sharaf DG) | AED 3,799 (ACE) | AED 3,299 (ACE); AED 2,299, was 3,299 (Jashanmal) |
| Stock | Not stated | Out of stock | Out of stock at ACE; sold out at Jashanmal |
A few of these entries need explaining.
Sharaf DG's price carries a "D" prefix where ACE writes AED. We read it as dirhams, since the page is the UAE store, but we have not seen it confirmed. The two stores' prices for the SMS6ECI38M differ by AED 232 or so, which is ordinary retail variation.
The "was" prices matter for one reason. ACE lists the SMS6ECI38M at 4,299 against a former 5,699, a 25% reduction. Jashanmal lists the SMS6HMW76M at 2,299 against a former 3,299, a reduction of about 30%. A model that is repeatedly reduced and then listed as out of stock may be heading out of the range. We cannot tell which from a listing, so ask the seller whether a replacement model exists and how long parts are supported.
Two of the three codes are not on Bosch UAE's list page, as we read it. That does not make them fake or from another market. A list page can lag the retailers, or omit older models, and a machine that sits on a retailer's shelf with UAE warranty paperwork is a different case from one imported privately. Sharaf DG describes its stock as UAE official stock with a one-year brand warranty. That is the sort of statement to get in writing from whoever sells you any Serie 6.
Bosch's own page for the SMS6EMI38M
Bosch's Kuwait site has a full specification page for the SMS6EMI38M, which is also on Bosch UAE's list. We use it here as the closest thing to a manufacturer spec for a code sold in the UAE, with the caveat that it comes from another country's site.
| Detail | Bosch Kuwait page |
|---|---|
| Place settings | 14 maximum |
| Programs | Eco, Auto 45–65 °C, Intensive, Quick L, Custom |
| Water | 9.5 litres per cycle |
| Drying | "Heat exchanger + drying assist" |
| Options | Remote control, EfficientDry, Pretreatment, SpeedPerfect Plus, Machine Care programme |
| Home Connect | Yes, with remote monitoring and control |
| EmotionLight | No |
| Size | 845 × 600 × 600 mm; 1,155 mm deep with the door open at 90° |
| Weight | 52.7 kg |
| Also listed | AquaStop, aquasensor, brushless motor, Rackmatic three-stage upper basket, Vario Flex basket |
Compare that with the retailer rows. The 14 places on Bosch's page match the SMS6HMW76M, not the 13 places that two retailers give for the SMS6ECI38M. The "heat exchanger" drying line does not match the Zeolith entry in Bosch's series table either. Both can be true at once, because the series table describes a family and a model page describes one machine.
The sensible reading of all this is that the Serie 6 name covers machines with 13 or 14 places, six or seven programs, and more than one drying system. The code on your rating plate is the only reliable identifier.
Model codes people search for
Searches for the Serie 6 include codes such as SMS6ZCI00G, SMV6ZCX01G, SMD6ZCX60G, SMV6HCX01A and SMS6TCI00E. None of them appeared on Bosch's UAE list. The ones we saw in search results sat on UK, Irish and Hong Kong retailer pages, and Bosch's Australian site carries its own SMS6 codes. Bosch sells different models in different markets, and a machine bought abroad can differ in voltage, plug and parts. If you own one, send us the full E-Nr before a visit so that we can check parts. If you are buying, match the code on the invoice to a code Bosch lists for the UAE.
The letters give a rough guide to format, with one caution. On Bosch's UAE list, SMS models are freestanding and an SMV model (on the Serie 4 list) is fully integrated. Irish and Estonian retailers use SMD and SMU for built-in machines. We treat those as hints, because Bosch's own coding is not explained on the pages we read. As an example of how names and codes can disagree, one Bosch Egypt listing, as we read it, describes the SMV4IMX62T as a Series 6 fully integrated machine although its code begins SMV4. When the series name and the code disagree, believe neither until you see the specification.
Serie 6 features explained
The table combines Bosch's series table, Bosch's page for the SMS6EMI38M and the retailer listings. The right-hand column says what each feature does in daily use and what it means if something goes wrong.
| Feature | Where it comes from | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| EcoSilence Drive | Sharaf DG, Bosch series table | The motor. Bosch describes it as quiet and energy saving. The SMS6EMI38M page calls it a brushless motor |
| AquaStop | Bosch Kuwait page, ACE, Sharaf DG | Leak protection. ACE and Sharaf DG give a lifetime warranty against water damage, with terms to read |
| RackMatic | ACE, Sharaf DG | Top basket with three height levels and nine rack positions (ACE) |
| Vario Flex basket | Bosch Kuwait page | Flexible folding parts in the baskets for awkward items |
| Extra-deep top rack | Bosch series table | Bosch says it suits hard-to-place items, "always in combination with a cutlery basket" |
| AntiFingerprint | ACE, Sharaf DG | A coating on the steel front |
| Water softener | Sharaf DG | A built-in softener, which means a salt compartment to fill |
| Home Connect | All the Serie 6 pages we read | App control: remote start, monitoring, program recommendations and a saved favourite program (ACE) |
| Load sensor and aquasensor | Bosch series table, Bosch Kuwait page | Adjusts water and cycle time to how dirty the load is |
| TimeLight | Bosch series table | Projects the program status and remaining time on the floor |
| Tab Counter | ACE (SMS6EMI65M) | Alerts you when detergent tablets run low |
| 10-year inner tub guarantee | ACE | Against rust-through. Read the terms |
Several of these deserve a closer look because they change how you use the machine or how it fails.
Drying: Zeolith, PerfectDry or heat exchanger
This is the feature that matters most when comparing a Serie 6 with a Serie 4, and the one the UAE listings explain least.
Bosch's series table credits the Serie 6 with Zeolith drying, which it says "effectively reduces energy consumption by converting moisture to heat", and with PerfectDry, described as giving "cupboard-ready dishes, even plastic, thanks to Zeolith technology". Bosch's page for the SMS6EMI38M, however, lists the drying system as "heat exchanger + drying assist", and ACE's page for the SMS6EMI65M also says heat exchanger drying with a drying assist. We found no UAE page that names Zeolith or PerfectDry for a specific Serie 6 code. The SMS6ECI38M listings at ACE and Sharaf DG mention neither.
What this means for a buyer is simple. A Serie 6 is not automatically a Zeolith machine. The series table describes what the range can do, and the models sold here may well be the heat-exchanger variants. If PerfectDry is the reason you are paying more than a Serie 4 costs, ask the seller to show you the words "Zeolith" or "PerfectDry" on the specification of the exact code, and do not accept the series name as proof.
What it means for an owner is practical as well. On any dishwasher, plastics dry worst because they hold little heat. Fill the rinse aid compartment, put plastics on the top rack, and open the door slightly at the end of the cycle if the machine does not do it for you. Bosch's table lists EfficientDry, which opens the door at the end of the cycle by itself, for some Serie 6 models, so if yours has it, leave the space in front of the door clear. If a dishwasher that dried well begins to leave dishes wet, the cause is often an empty rinse aid compartment. When it is not, a drying fault can sit in the heating or the drying system, which we check on site. We name the part in the written quote, and we do not guess at a part from the model name.
AquaStop and what E15 means
AquaStop is the leak protection. When water collects in the base, a float switches the machine off and the display shows E15. Bosch's instruction for E15 is to turn off the water supply and contact support. Do not reset it and carry on, because the float has done its job and the water is still coming from somewhere. The lifetime warranty against water damage that two retailers quote has terms of its own, so ask the seller or Bosch for them in writing. Our dishwasher repair guide explains how to find the source of a leak, and our E15 page has the code details.
Home Connect on a Serie 6
Unlike the Serie 4, where we could not confirm Home Connect on any model, every Serie 6 listing we read names it: ACE for all three codes, Sharaf DG, and Bosch's own page for the SMS6EMI38M. The listings describe the same things. You can start and monitor a cycle from your phone, receive program recommendations for the load, and save a personal favourite program. ACE adds that the SMS6EMI65M has a Tab Counter that tells you when tablets are running low, and Sharaf DG lists Remote Start as one of its special options.
A few practical points follow.
- Remote start is an option on the machine. Sharaf DG lists "Remote Start" among six special options, which suggests you switch it on at the machine first. The manual for your code explains how.
- App and network problems are a different category from faults. If the app loses the machine, the first suspects are the router, the phone and the app. Our visits are for faults in the machine itself: a dead display, a cycle that will not start, or a control board that fails.
- Do not buy on the app alone. The Serie 4 listings mostly lack it, so it is a real point of difference, but the machine under it matters more.
Silence Plus, Super Silence and noise
Searches for the Serie 6 often include "Silence Plus" and "Super Silence". The sources we used for UAE models do not define either name, and none of the UAE listings we read applies them to a specific code, so we cannot say which models carry them. What the sources do give is a pair of figures that do not quite agree.
- Bosch's series table: a lowest noise level of 40 dB for the Serie 6, the same as the Serie 4 and 8
- Retailer listings: 44 dBA for the SMS6EMI65M and the SMS6HMW76M, and no figure for the SMS6ECI38M
The two are not necessarily in conflict. Bosch's number is the lowest level across the series, and a listing's number describes one machine, possibly measured on a different basis. They still mean you should not assume a Serie 6 reaches 40 dB. Read the figure on the energy label of the exact machine.
To check how quiet a given machine is:
- Find the dB figure on the energy label or specification and compare the same type of figure between machines.
- Remember it describes one program. Intensive programs, drying phases and pump cycles are louder than the quietest cycle.
- Allow for the kitchen. An open-plan layout with hard surfaces makes any machine seem louder.
A machine that becomes louder than it was has changed in some way. A rattle is usually the load or a loose spray arm, a grinding sound is usually debris in the pump, and a loud hum with no water movement points to a jammed or failing pump. Do not keep running a dishwasher that grinds.
Programs: which one to use
The retailer and Bosch pages name these programs between them. Your model will have some, not all, of them, and the manual is the authority.
| Program | Listed on | Suited to | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eco 50 °C | Sharaf DG (Economy at ACE) | Everyday loads when you are not in a hurry | A long cycle. Check the manual for which program the energy label is based on |
| Auto 45–65 °C | All pages | A mixed load, where the sensors pick the temperature | Results depend on the sensors seeing the soil, so do not pre-rinse heavily |
| Intensive 70 °C | All pages | Baked-on pots, pans and trays | The highest temperature. Avoid it for good glassware |
| Quick L 65 °C | All pages | A lightly soiled normal-sized load | Weaker drying, and not for baked-on food |
| Quick S 45 °C | Sharaf DG | A small, lightly soiled load | Same as Quick L |
| Glass 40 °C | ACE (SMS6HMW76M) | Delicate glasses | Check the manual for what the program is allowed to wash |
| Custom or Favourite | ACE, Jashanmal, Bosch Kuwait | The settings you use most | The app can save it on Home Connect models |
| Machine Care | Sharaf DG, Bosch Kuwait | A cleaning cycle for the machine itself | Run it empty, with the cleaner the manual names |
Bosch's guidance on cloudy glasses points at high temperatures and long cycles as the conditions for glass corrosion. If your machine has a gentler glass program, use it for good glasses and keep Intensive for pans.
A quick program does not fix a poorly loaded machine. If a tall pot blocks a spray arm or the filter is clogged, every program cleans badly. Our dishwasher guide covers the checks.
Options that change a program
The pages also list options, which are switches that modify the chosen program. Sharaf DG names Remote Start, Half Load, BabyBottle+, Extra Rinse and Machine Care. ACE's SMS6EMI65M listing names Intensive Zone, half load and HygienePlus, and Bosch Kuwait adds EfficientDry, Pretreatment and SpeedPerfect Plus. Which of them your machine has depends on the code, and the manual says what each one changes.
Serie 6 vs Serie 4 and 8
Bosch's series table, reproduced above, gives a clear ordering. These are the points that decide most purchases.
| If you want | Serie 4 | Serie 6 | Serie 8 |
|---|---|---|---|
| The lowest listed noise | 40 dB | 40 dB | 40 dB |
| Zeolith drying and PerfectDry | No | Yes (series table), model by model | Yes |
| Touch controls | No, buttons | Yes, LED display | Yes, TFT display |
| Light projected on the floor | TimeLight | TimeLight, EmotionLight | TimeLight, EmotionLight |
| Home Connect | Listed by Bosch, not confirmed on UAE listings | Named on every listing we read | Listed by Bosch, not researched here |
| UAE price points we saw | AED 2,499 (SMS44DI01T, out of stock) | AED 3,299 to 4,299 | Not researched on this page |
Choose the Serie 6 if you want app control and touch controls, and you have confirmed the exact code's drying system if dry plastics matter to you.
Stay with the Serie 4 if you are happy with a simpler machine and ordinary condensation drying. On Bosch's table it has the same noise floor and the same rack features. The retailer price we saw for the Serie 6 starts about AED 800 above the Serie 4 price we saw, though they are different retailers and different moments, so compare like for like when you shop. Our Serie 4 dishwasher guide goes through those models.
Look at the Serie 8 if the TFT display and the full drying system matter to you. We have not researched the Serie 8 models sold in the UAE for this guide.
Freestanding, integrated, black or steel: choosing a format
The first decision is how the machine fits your kitchen. On Bosch's UAE list the Serie 6 comes in one format and three finishes.
- Freestanding (SMS and SMP models). A complete machine with its own front and top. It slides under a worktop or stands alone. The listed finishes are brushed steel, brushed black steel and white, and four of the five carry an anti-fingerprint finish.
- Fully integrated. The front is hidden behind a cabinet door. We did not see one on Bosch's UAE list. Other markets sell them, and a UAE retailer would need to confirm the code and availability.
The anti-fingerprint coating is Bosch's answer to smudges on a front that people open with wet hands. The white model, SMS6ZCW85M, is the only one on the list without the label.
What to measure
- Height, width and depth. The three retailer codes are listed at 84.5 × 60 × 60 cm, which matches Bosch's page for the SMS6EMI38M at 845 × 600 × 600 mm.
- The door swing. Bosch's page gives 1,155 mm of depth with the door open at 90°. Measure the floor in front of the machine against that number, and allow for the racks sliding out.
- The water supply and the drain. A tap or isolating valve within reach of the inlet hose, and a drain connection that is often shared with the sink waste.
- The power socket. Within reach, and not an extension lead.
- The route to the room. Measure the door and the lift. The listed weights are 52 to 55 kg, so plan for two people.
Installation checks before the first cycle
Many early problems come from installation, not from the machine. The manual gives the exact steps for your model.
- Connect the inlet hose hand-tight, check it for kinks and open the tap fully.
- Connect the drain hose without kinks, following the manual's guidance on position.
- Level the machine so that the door closes properly and the racks slide.
- Fill the salt compartment if there is one, add rinse aid and set the water hardness.
- Run a first cycle empty and watch it fill, wash and drain. Check for drips at the hose connections and the door.
A leak on the first cycle is cheap to fix with the machine still pulled out, so check before you push it into the space.
Setting it up: salt, rinse aid and hardness
Cloudy glasses, a white film and wet plastics account for many dishwasher complaints, and they usually come from setup, not from a fault. These settings apply to any Serie 6 with a water softener.
- Set the water hardness. Bosch tells owners to check the hardness with their water provider or with test strips, and to set the softener to match. A setting that is too low leaves limescale. One that is too high softens the water more than needed and risks corroding glass. We do not quote a figure for Dubai tap water, because we did not find a source we trust, so test your own tap.
- Fill the salt compartment if the machine has one. Use dishwasher salt only, never table salt. The softener stops working when the salt runs out.
- Use rinse aid in every wash. Bosch says it reduces surface tension so that water runs off, prevents spots and neutralises detergent residue. An empty rinse aid compartment is a common reason for wet plastics.
- Descale now and then. Run the Machine Care program, or a dishwasher descaler on an empty machine, following the pack.
A quick test tells you whether cloudiness is limescale or glass corrosion. Rub a glass with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. If the cloudiness comes off, it was limescale. If it stays, the glass is corroded, which is permanent.
Loading a Serie 6 so it cleans and dries
Most "the dishwasher doesn't clean" complaints are loading problems. The manual's loading diagram wins over this list, but these habits apply to a Bosch with an adjustable top rack.
- Face dirty surfaces toward the centre and the spray arms. Bowls and plates face inward and slightly down.
- Use the extra-deep top rack for what it is for. Bosch says it suits hard-to-place items and always goes with a cutlery basket, not a cutlery tray. That is a trade: you gain space for long utensils and give up the usual place for loose cutlery.
- Keep tall items out of the spray arm's path. A pan handle poking through the rack stops the arm turning. Spin each arm by hand before closing the door.
- Put pots and baking trays in the lower rack, with the heaviest soil toward the ExtraClean Zone if your model has one.
- Load plastics and light items on the top rack, and weigh down anything that can flip over and fill with water.
- Do not nest. Spoons stacked together wash as one surface.
- Scrape, do not rinse. Remove bones and solids but leave ordinary residue. Bosch says the load sensor adjusts water and cycle time to how soiled the load is, and a thorough pre-rinse gives it less to read.
- Raise or lower the top rack for the load. On a Rackmatic rack, drop it for tall pots below and raise it for tall glasses above, then check the arm still clears.
Wooden items, cast iron and some aluminium and non-stick pans do not belong in a dishwasher. Check the maker's care label before you load them.
Five checks before you book a repair
Some faults are fixed in a few minutes without a tool. Try these first, and note what you see so the technician can use it.
- Is the water on and the door shut? A half-open isolating valve gives a slow or empty fill. A door that has not latched stops the cycle starting.
- Is the filter clear? Remove it and rinse it. Food in the filter causes slow draining, poor cleaning and smells.
- Is the drain hose kinked or the sink waste blocked? If the sink drains slowly too, the machine is not the problem.
- Is there water or a code on the display? Write it down or photograph it. Do not reset a leak code and keep running the machine.
- Has the power tripped? Check the socket or isolator. A tripped breaker on a dishwasher can point to a wet fault, so do not keep resetting it.
If the fault is still there, book. If water is leaking, switch off at the isolator and close the tap first.
Error codes on a Serie 6
Serie 6 machines show their faults on the display, and the codes are the same family as on other Bosch dishwashers. These are the ones we see most. Each has its own page.
| Code | What it points to | First check |
|---|---|---|
| E09 | Heat pump internal heater fault, on Bosch's list | Cut the power for 30 seconds, then restart. Book if it returns |
| E10 | The zeolite chamber heater, on Bosch's list | Applies only to a machine with a Zeolith chamber. Book a check |
| E15 | Water detected in the base by AquaStop | Close the tap and isolate the power, then book |
| E22 | A blocked filter, pump cover, drain hose or air gap | Clean the filter and check the hose |
| E24 | A blocked or loose pump cover, kinked hose or clogged air gap | Check the pump cover, hose and air gap, then run a rinse |
| E25 | The same causes as E24 | As for E24 |
Photograph the code before you reset anything. Of the codes above, E10 is the one that exists only on machines with a Zeolith chamber, so mention it if you see it.
Owning a Serie 6 in Dubai: care and servicing
A Serie 6 needs very little, and most of it is ten minutes a month.
- Clean the filter. Remove the lower rack, take out the filter set in the base and rinse it under running water with a soft brush. A clogged filter is a common cause of an E22 code.
- Check the spray arms. Lift them off, clear the nozzles with a toothpick and make sure they spin freely.
- Wipe the door seal and the tub edges where food collects.
- Top up the salt and rinse aid and check the hardness setting.
- Check the hoses. Look at the inlet and drain hoses for kinks and the connections for drips.
- Run the Machine Care program or a hot cycle with a descaler on an empty machine.
Know the signs that a repair is due:
- Water left in the base after a cycle
- An E15, E22, E24 or E25 code
- A leak at the door, under the machine or at the hoses
- A grinding or humming noise
- Cold dishes at the end of the cycle, or cycles that run far longer than they did
- A display or touch control that does not respond
- Glasses that stay cloudy after you have checked salt, rinse aid and hardness
Each of these is cheaper to fix when it first appears. The AED 99 inspection looks at all of them, runs a test cycle and gives a written quote for anything that is wearing. You decide what to approve.
What a Serie 6 repair costs in Dubai
A Serie 6 has the same fault list as other Bosch dishwashers, with one addition: the touch controls and display. The table shows typical prices, excluding 5% VAT. The AED 99 inspection is deducted from the repair if you go ahead.
| Fault | Usual cause | Typical fix | Time on site | Price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Not draining | Blocked filter or hose, failed drain pump | Clear the blockage, replace the pump | 45 to 90 min | 160 – 340 |
| Not filling | Inlet screen, inlet valve, flow meter | Clean the screen, replace the valve or meter | 45 to 90 min | 170 – 320 |
| Not heating | Heating element, temperature sensor | Replace the element or sensor | 60 to 120 min | 300 – 480 |
| Leaking | Door seal, hose, pump housing | Replace the seal, hose or housing | 45 to 90 min | 180 – 420 |
| Not cleaning | Circulation pump, spray arm, blocked nozzles | Clean or replace the part | 60 to 90 min | 180 – 460 |
| Won't start | Door latch or switch, control module | Replace the latch, or repair or replace the module | 60 to 120 min | 180 – 540 |
| Display or touch control fault | Panel or control module. See our control board guide | Repair or replace the part | 60 to 150 min | 300 – 540 |
The part and the access decide where in the range a quote falls. A drain pump costs far less than a control module. A drying complaint is quoted after we find the cause, because on a Serie 6 it could be rinse aid, the heating or the drying system, and the quote names the part. Our dishwasher repair guide explains each fault in more detail.
Repair or replace a Serie 6?
Use a real new-machine price as the reference. ACE listed the SMS6ECI38M at AED 4,299 and the SMS6HMW76M at AED 3,299 on 2 November 2026. A workable rule is that a repair costing more than about half of a comparable new machine, or a machine past ten years old with two serious faults, is a case for replacing. Half of the lower price is about AED 1,650.
The repair prices in the examples are from our placeholder ranges, so check your own written quote.
- Three-year-old Serie 6, drain pump failed, quote AED 300. That is 7% of the AED 4,299 price. Repair it.
- Six-year-old Serie 6, control module fault, quote AED 520. That is 12% of the new price. If the tub, racks and seals are sound, repair it. If the door seal is split and the racks are rusting, this is the first of several bills.
- Twelve-year-old Serie 6, failed heater and a leaking pump housing, combined quote AED 850. That is 26% of AED 3,299, but the machine has two faults and is well past the age when more follow. Replace it.
Two points tilt the decision. A new machine comes with a manufacturer warranty, which the UAE listings give as one year, plus the guarantees on the tub and AquaStop whose terms you should read. Our repairs carry 90 days on the repaired fault. And because several Serie 6 codes are heavily discounted or out of stock, ask a seller whether a direct replacement exists before you condemn an old machine. We will tell you when a repair is not worth it, and if you decline, you owe only the inspection fee.
How to book, and the warranty on our repairs
You book online or by WhatsApp. We confirm a two-hour window, and the technician messages you on WhatsApp 30 minutes before arriving. On site, they diagnose the fault, show you the failed part where possible and give you a written quote with the part number. Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the parts fitted and the labour for the repaired fault. We list the part number on a VAT invoice. If your Serie 6 is still inside Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch first. Our service center page explains how to decide, and our customer care guide lists Bosch's own contact routes.
We repair Bosch dishwashers across Dubai, with typical arrival times of 50 to 75 minutes after the technician sets off. Areas include Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Mirdif and Al Barsha.
Frequently asked questions
What does Bosch Serie 6 mean for a dishwasher?
Serie 6 is the third of Bosch's four dishwasher ranges, between the Serie 4 and the Serie 8. Bosch's series table gives it touch controls, Zeolith drying and PerfectDry, a lowest noise level of 40 dB and Home Connect, though the footnotes say not every model has every feature.
Which Bosch Serie 6 dishwashers are sold in the UAE?
Bosch's UAE list shows the SMP6EMC64M, SMS6ECI38M, SMS6EMI38M, SMS6ZCI85M and SMS6ZCW85M, all freestanding and 60 cm wide. Retailers also list the SMS6EMI65M and SMS6HMW76M. Check the E-Nr on any machine you buy.
How many place settings does a Serie 6 hold?
It depends on the code. Retailers list 13 for the SMS6ECI38M and SMS6EMI65M and 14 for the SMS6HMW76M, and Bosch's Kuwait page gives 14 for the SMS6EMI38M. Check the specification of your exact model.
Does the Bosch Serie 6 dishwasher have Wi-Fi?
Every Serie 6 listing we read names Home Connect, which is Bosch's app control. It lets you start and monitor a cycle from your phone. Confirm it on the specification of the code you are buying.
Does the Serie 6 have Zeolith drying?
Bosch's series table says the Serie 6 has Zeolith and PerfectDry, but Bosch's page for the SMS6EMI38M lists heat exchanger drying with a drying assist. No UAE listing we read names Zeolith for a specific code, so ask the seller to show it on the model's specification.
What are Silence Plus and Super Silence?
They are names that appear in searches, and the sources we used for UAE models do not define them. Look at the dB figure on the model's energy label instead. Retailers list 44 dBA for two codes, against 40 dB as the lowest Bosch lists for the series.
Is the Serie 6 worth it over the Serie 4?
It is worth it for Home Connect, touch controls and, if the code has it, Zeolith drying. It is not worth it for quiet, because Bosch lists the same 40 dB for both. Confirm the drying system on the exact code before you pay the difference.
How much does a Serie 6 dishwasher repair cost in Dubai?
Most repairs fall between AED 160 and 540, excluding 5% VAT. A blocked filter or hose is the cheapest, and a control module, display or heating repair the most. The AED 99 inspection is deducted from the repair if you go ahead.
Where is the model number on a Serie 6 dishwasher?
On the rating plate, usually on the edge of the door or the inner side panel when you open it. The model number is the E-Nr, for example SMS6ECI38M. Photograph the plate and send it with your booking.
