Bosch Dryer Repair in Dubai
Bosch dryer faults fall into seven groups: clothes that come out damp, a dryer that does not heat, cycles that run far longer than they should, a drum that will not turn, a noise, a code on the display, or a machine that will not start. The cause is often something you can clear in five minutes: a blocked filter, a full water container, a kinked hose or an overloaded drum. When it is not, a technician can usually find the fault at your home in one visit and give you a fixed AED price before any work starts. Book before 4 pm and most areas of Dubai get a visit the same day.
This page is for people who own a Bosch tumble dryer and want to know what is wrong with it. The checks come first, then the symptom guides, the error codes, the cost and the repair-or-replace decision.
We are an independent Bosch appliance repair company, not the manufacturer. If your dryer is still inside Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch first. Our independent service center page explains how to decide.

Bosch dryer repair in Dubai: what we fix and which dryers
We repair freestanding Bosch tumble dryers in homes across Dubai. The Bosch dryers we found on sale in the UAE are heat pump models, and that is what most of this page assumes. We also look at condenser and vented dryers that owners have imported or brought with them, and we check the model code before we quote.
The three words describe how a dryer deals with the damp air that leaves the drum. A vented dryer pushes it outside through a hose. A condenser dryer cools it to collect the water in a container. A heat pump dryer does the same job with a sealed heat pump circuit and a heat exchanger, and it reuses the heat. What matters for a repair is that the checks differ. A vented dryer has an outside vent that can block. A heat pump dryer has a heat exchanger that fills with fluff and a water container that has to be emptied.
Here are three Bosch dryers listed by a UAE retailer on 2 November 2026:
| Model | Type | Listed features | ACE price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|
| WQG24200GC | Series 4, 9 kg heat pump | Sensors for temperature and remaining moisture, 14 programs, 64 dB, 1-year warranty | 3,799 (was 4,199) |
| WQG2410XGC | Series 4, 9 kg heat pump | 14 programs, 64 dB, child lock, anti-rust metal body, 1-year warranty | 3,999 (was 4,499) |
| WTH85210GC | Series 4, 8 kg, listed as "heat pump condenser" | A++, 288 kWh a year, sensors, Quick 40' program, 1-year warranty | 3,499, stock status conflicting |
Retailer pages change often and can carry errors, so treat the table as a snapshot and not a price list. The WTH85210GC listing shows "Out of Stock" near the price and "Available for Home Delivery" elsewhere on the page, and it uses both "heat pump" and "condenser" in its name without explaining the difference. We use these prices later to work out whether a repair is worth it.
We do not repair the sealed heat pump circuit itself, meaning the compressor and its refrigerant. That work belongs to a specialist with the right equipment, and we tell you at the inspection if the fault is on that side of the line. Everything around the circuit, such as the filters, the water path, the sensors, the fan, the drum drive, the door and the control module, is within what we repair.
Which dryer do you have?
Look at the door, the controls and the model code.
- A water container in the top or front of the machine means a condenser or heat pump dryer. Bosch's Kuwait support page tells owners to empty the condensation water container after every drying cycle and warns that a full container can abort the next program.
- A maintenance flap that opens to a removable unit is where Bosch Singapore's heat exchanger page puts the heat exchanger on the models it covers, with two levers behind the flap. Your booklet shows whether yours has one.
- A hose at the back that leaves the room or goes through a wall means a vented dryer.
The model code is on the rating plate and in the instruction booklet. Bosch Singapore asks customers to have the E-Nr and FD numbers from the plate ready before they call, and we ask for the same. A photo is enough. Codes starting WQG or WTH are the families in the table above.
Safety first: what not to do
Bosch UAE's page for a dryer that is not heating up carries a plain warning: "Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair your dryer yourself if it is not heating up." The page adds that a DIY repair will probably only do more damage. We agree with the direction, and we extend it to every fault that involves opening the machine.
The checks on this page need no tools. They involve a filter, a water container, a hose and a damp cloth. Do not remove the back or top panel, do not open the electronics and do not work on the mains cable. A tumble dryer holds heat for a while after a cycle, and Bosch Kuwait's cleaning guide says to let a dryer that has been running for a long time cool before cleaning it.
Switch the dryer off at the wall and stop using it if you notice any of these:
- A burning smell, scorched laundry or visible smoke
- The breaker trips when you switch it on
- Water around the base that comes from inside the machine
- A damaged mains cable or a door that no longer closes
For all of those, leave the dryer off and book an inspection.
Check these before you book
Run through this list first. Each item comes from a Bosch support page or from how these dryers are designed to behave, and each takes under a minute.
Is the fluff filter clean? This is the cheapest cause on the page and the one Bosch puts first. Bosch Kuwait says to clean the filter after each use and to rinse it. Its error table adds that E01 and E02 mean the fluff filter is blocked, either by fluff or by fabric softener residue that is difficult to detect. A filter that looks clean can still be coated. If you use softener sheets or liquid softener, rinse the filter under water, let it dry and refit it.
Is the condensation water container empty? Bosch Kuwait says to empty it after every drying cycle and that a full container can abort the next program. A dryer that stops mid-cycle and shows a water-container symbol is asking for exactly this.
Is the load too big? Bosch's US error page describes E04 as an overloaded dryer and suggests leaving about a hand's width of space above the clothes. That page is American and describes a vented-style machine, but the advice is sensible for any drum. Overloading also explains slow drying with no fault in the machine.
Is the door shut properly? Bosch's US page lists E16 as the door being opened during a cycle, and DR as a door not firmly closed or a door switch issue. Close the door firmly and press start. If the child lock is on, a key symbol will show. The US page says to hold a button or a button combination for a few seconds to turn it off, and your booklet has the exact press for your model.
Is the drainage hose kinked or full of debris? Bosch lists E03 as the condensation drainage hose being blocked or kinked. Kuwait's resolution is to loosen the hose clip on the siphon, carefully remove the drainage hose, and clean the hose and the siphon spigot. Only do this on a dryer that is switched off and cold, and have a towel ready for any water in the hose.
Is the moisture sensor dirty? Bosch Kuwait's cleaning guide tells owners to wipe the stainless steel humidity sensor with a roughened sponge and says that deposits on it must be cleaned regularly. We have not found a Bosch statement of exactly what a dirty sensor does, so we describe only what the guide implies: a sensor that is coated is a candidate when a dryer stops early, runs too long, or leaves clothes damp.
Is the dryer getting power? A dead display with no light is a different problem. Check the wall socket by plugging in something else, and check the breaker. If the breaker has tripped and trips again when reset, do not keep resetting it.
Try a reset. Bosch's US page says to unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker for at least 5 minutes, then restore power. It also mentions a red reset button behind a rear access panel on some models. Do not open the rear panel. That is a technician job, and the button is not something we have seen on the Bosch UAE pages.
If none of these explains the problem, the symptom guides below are the next step.
Find your fault
The clothes come out damp
Damp clothes after a full cycle usually have one of four causes. The first is a clogged filter or a coated one, as above. The second is a heat exchanger that is full of fluff, which Bosch covers in its cleaning guides and which we deal with in a separate section below. The third is a load that is too big or too mixed, so that heavy items stay wet while light ones dry. The fourth is a sensor that ends the cycle too early.
Bosch UAE's page for a dryer that is no longer drying gives no steps. It says that there is "only one course of action": call Bosch customer service. It also reminds owners to check the care label for the right drying temperature. That is useful, since a program set too cool for a thick fabric will leave it damp with nothing wrong.
Our suggestion for the order: filter and container first, then a half load on a standard cotton program, then the sensor. If the half load comes out dry and the full load does not, the machine is working and the load is too large. If even a half load stays damp after a clean filter, empty container and clean sensor, book an inspection.
The dryer does not heat
A dryer that tumbles but produces no warmth is a fault that Bosch UAE tells owners to leave to a technician. The causes depend on the type. On a vented dryer, a failed heating element or a tripped thermal protector is the usual explanation. On a heat pump dryer there is no ordinary heating element in the main path, and the heat comes from the heat pump circuit, so a dryer that never warms can point to the circuit, to a sensor or to the controls. We do not claim to know which from outside the machine.
What you can do is rule out the cheap causes. Bosch's US page lists E12 as an overheating condition caused by restricted airflow, to be handled by cleaning the lint screen and checking that the external vent is not blocked. Again, that is a vented-dryer page, so the vent check applies to vented dryers only.
If the filter, container and heat exchanger are clean and the dryer still does not heat, switch it off and book. The technician will tell you whether the fault sits within our repair scope, and if it is in the sealed circuit, we say so at the inspection.
Cycles take far too long
A cycle that used to take two hours and now takes three or four is a classic sign of restricted airflow or a dirty exchanger. The same checks apply: filter, exchanger, sensor, load size. Overloading slows every dryer. Wet loads that have not been spun properly in the washing machine also add time, so a washer with a weak spin can look like a dryer fault.
There may also be a room factor. We have not found a Bosch source on how the room changes drying time, so we offer no figure. Our reading is that a dryer boxed into a small, closed cupboard is worth moving or opening up, to see whether the cycle time improves.
The drum does not turn
Bosch UAE's page for a drum that will not spin says only that the dryer "probably" has a technical fault and tells owners to call customer service. It gives no steps. We agree that there is little to check yourself, apart from the door and the load. A door that is not closed will stop the drum. A load that is jammed behind the door seal can stop it as well.
If the motor hums but the drum stays still, switch the dryer off. That pattern can mean a drive part has failed, and running it makes things worse. A drum that turns by hand more easily than it should, or that makes a slapping noise as it turns, points to the belt or the rollers. We cannot tell which without opening the machine.
The dryer makes a noise
Bosch UAE's page for loud dryer noises gives one self-check: look inside the drum for a coin or another item that fell out of the laundry and is rattling. If you find nothing and the noise is constant, the page says to call customer service.
Our own notes on what to describe when you call: is the noise a rattle, a squeal, a grind or a thump, and does it happen on every turn of the drum or only now and then? Does it start when the dryer is cold or only once it is warm? Is it louder with a full drum? We have no Bosch source that links particular sounds to particular parts, so we diagnose by listening on site. A ten-second video is more useful to us than any description.
The dryer will not start
A dryer that shows nothing when you press the power button has either no power, a locked panel or a fault in the electronics. Bosch UAE's page asks "Nothing happens when you switch on your dryer?" and does not give separate steps. The sequence we suggest is the wall socket, the breaker, the door, the child lock and a five-minute power-off. If the display lights but the cycle will not begin, the door switch and the door latch are the usual suspects, since the dryer will not run with the door open. Bosch's US list covers this with the DR code.
Water on the floor
A condenser or heat pump dryer collects water. If it ends up on the floor, check three places before you call. The container may be overfull or not seated. The drainage hose, if the machine is plumbed to drain, may have slipped off the siphon or be blocked. Bosch Singapore's heat exchanger page notes that residual water may leak out when the exchanger is removed, so a puddle after you cleaned it is not a fault. A leak that comes from inside the machine and not from these points needs a technician.
A burning or hot smell
A scorched or acrid smell, or any smell with smoke or discoloured laundry, is a reason to stop. Switch the dryer off at the wall and leave it off. Lint around heated parts is a known fire risk with dryers in general, which is a further reason to clean the filter after every cycle, but we have no Bosch figure to quote for the risk, and we do not guess at one.
Bosch dryer error codes
The two tables below set out what Bosch's own pages say. The first table is from Bosch Kuwait, which publishes a short code list in English for owners in the region. The second is from Bosch's US page, which is longer and contains some contradictions we explain after it. Bosch UAE does not publish a code list that we could find.
From Bosch Kuwait
| Code | What Bosch says | What Bosch says to do |
|---|---|---|
| E01, E02 | The fluff filter is blocked by fabric softener residue (difficult to detect) or by fluff | Clean the filter after each drying cycle |
| E03 | The condensation drainage hose is blocked or kinked | Loosen the hose clip on the siphon, remove the hose, clean the hose and the siphon spigot |
| E06 | A fault in the heating circuit | Only an experienced engineer can fix it |
| E08, E09, E24, E25, E28, E90 | A fault in the electronics | Only an experienced engineer can fix it |
From Bosch US (American models, which may differ from yours)
| Code | What Bosch says | What Bosch says to do |
|---|---|---|
| E03 | Condensation drainage hose blocked or kinked | Check the hose for kinks |
| E04 | Dryer overloaded | Leave about a hand's width above the clothes |
| E16 | Door opened during a cycle | Close it and press start |
| DR | Door not properly closed or a door switch issue | Close the door firmly, then inspect the latch and switch if it persists |
| E63 | Heating element failure | Unplug, check the element and connections, call Bosch if nothing is visible |
| CrE | A reminder to run the care program, not an error | Run the basic care program in your manual |
| E06, E08, E09, E24, E25, E28, E36, E90 | Electronic fault | Only an authorised technician can fix it |
Three points to read carefully.
First, the two sources agree on the codes that matter most. E01 and E02 point to the filter, E03 to the drainage path, and E06 and the electronics group to a technician. If you see one of the electronics codes, there is nothing to clean. Note the code and book.
Second, Bosch's US page contradicts itself in places, and we do not paper over it. It lists E02 under the filter and also as a main control board relay fault. It titles E12 as limescale build-up in the heat pump but describes overheating from restricted airflow. It titles E56 as a detergent dispenser fault, though the text describes a moisture sensor. When a page is inconsistent with itself, we trust the filter and drainage entries, which match the Kuwait page, and treat the rest as unconfirmed for your model. Your booklet decides the final meaning.
Third, the US page includes E63 as a heating element failure and describes a reset button on a high-limit thermostat. These describe a vented-style dryer. A heat pump dryer does not work that way, so do not assume the same code means the same thing on your machine. If it appears, tell us the model and the code.
When you message us on WhatsApp with a code, say what was happening when it appeared: at start, mid-cycle or at the end. That timing narrows the cause faster than the code alone.
Cleaning the heat exchanger: what Bosch says, and where its pages disagree
The heat exchanger is the part of a heat pump dryer where moisture condenses out of the drum air. Fluff that gets past the filter ends up on it and restricts airflow. Two Bosch regional pages cover it, and they do not say quite the same thing.
Bosch Singapore gives a seven-step procedure. Let the dryer cool completely, put an absorbent cloth under the maintenance flap, open the flap, turn both levers toward each other, remove the top cap, take out the heat exchanger, rinse it with water from all sides, clear fluff from the seals, let it drip, and refit everything until the flap clicks. It says to use water only and to avoid hard or sharp objects. It recommends cleaning "several times a month" if you use the dryer more than twice a week.
Bosch Kuwait says the condenser or heat exchanger "should be cleaned every month", flushed with water only, and adds that Bosch does not recommend DIY cleaning for heat pump dryers.
So Bosch's frequency ranges from monthly to several times a month, and one page walks you through the job while another advises against doing it yourself. We cannot resolve that for you, and we do not pick a side by guesswork. Our practical reading is this. Your booklet is the authority for your model, so follow it. If the booklet shows the steps and your dryer has the flap and levers Singapore describes, the job is designed to be done by the owner with water and a cloth. If your model does not have an owner-removable exchanger, or you are unsure, do not force anything, and leave it to a technician.
What we add from the repair side is a warning in two parts. Do not use a brush, a screwdriver or a stiff tool on the exchanger, because Bosch Singapore says to avoid hard or sharp objects and the fins are easy to damage. And do not run the dryer with the exchanger half-fitted or the flap not clicked shut.
When fluff on the exchanger is the cause of a slow dryer, the technician cleans it as part of the repair.
What a Bosch dryer repair costs in Dubai
The AED 99 inspection includes the visit, the diagnosis and a written quote. If you approve the repair, the AED 99 comes off the repair price. If you decline, it is all you pay. The table shows typical prices by fault, all excluding 5% VAT.
| Fault | Usual cause | Typical fix | Time on site | Price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Long cycles or damp clothes | Blocked exchanger, sensor, airflow | Clean and test, replace the sensor | 45 to 90 min | 180 – 340 |
| Not heating (outside the sealed circuit) | Sensor, thermal protection, controls | Replace the failed part | 60 to 120 min | 220 – 480 |
| Drum noise | Worn rollers or belt | Replace the rollers or belt | 60 to 120 min | 220 – 460 |
| Drum will not turn | Belt, motor or drive part | Replace the part | 60 to 150 min | 240 – 520 |
| Water leak | Hose, seal, pump or container | Replace the part | 45 to 100 min | 180 – 400 |
| Door will not close or latch | Latch, switch or hinge | Replace the part | 45 to 90 min | 180 – 380 |
| Display or controls dead | Control module | Repair or replace the module | 60 to 150 min | 340 – 620 |
| Sealed heat pump circuit fault | Compressor or refrigerant side | Referred to a specialist | n/a | Inspection only |
Three things move a quote within its range. The part matters most: a door latch costs far less than a control module. Stock matters too, since if the part is not on the van the price is the same but you wait for a second visit. And access matters, because a dryer stacked on a washing machine takes longer to separate and move.
A worked example: your Bosch dryer takes four hours to dry a load, and the technician finds a coated moisture sensor and a heat exchanger full of fluff. The all-in price is AED 240, and the AED 99 inspection is included in that figure. VAT adds AED 12, so you pay AED 252. If you decline the quote, you pay AED 99 plus AED 4.95 VAT, a total of AED 103.95.
Payment is by card, cash or bank transfer, and every visit gets a VAT invoice with the part numbers listed.
Repair or replace?
Compare the written quote with the price of a comparable new dryer. A workable rule: if the repair costs more than about half of a new equivalent, replace it. If the dryer is past about twelve years and has had two serious faults, our rule of thumb is also to replace it. Neither number is a Bosch figure.
UAE prices help here. The three ACE listings we read on 2 November 2026 ran from AED 3,499 to AED 3,999, and all three are Series 4 models. We did not find a UAE listing for any other series to quote. So most ordinary faults cost a small share of a new dryer.
Examples, using the retailer prices above as the reference:
- Three-year-old Series 4 9 kg, coated sensor and exchanger, quote AED 240. The listed price of a new WQG24200GC is AED 3,799, so the repair is about 6%. Repair it.
- Seven-year-old dryer, drum belt worn, quote AED 460. Against AED 3,799, that is about 12%. Repair it, unless the drum or the door seal is also failing.
- Ten-year-old dryer, control module dead, quote AED 620. Against AED 3,499, the lowest listing we saw, that is about 18%. Repair is reasonable if the rest of the machine is sound.
- Any dryer where the fault is in the sealed heat pump circuit. We cannot repair that side, so the choice is between a specialist's quote and a new dryer. Ask the specialist for a written price and compare it in the same way.
The case for replacing is a dryer with several faults at once, a drum that is rusting or damaged, or a quote that approaches half the price of a new one. If our advice is to buy new, you owe only the inspection fee.
Check the warranty first. The ACE listings we read each state a 1-year standard warranty. If you bought your dryer recently, a free repair under warranty is better than a paid one.
For a longer schedule covering every Bosch appliance, see the maintenance table on our Bosch service center page. If your machine washes and dries in one drum, see our washer-dryer repair page.
Keeping a dryer running
Dryers need little, but what they need, they need often.
- Clean the filter after every cycle. Bosch Kuwait says to clean it after each use. Rinse it from time to time, since softener can coat it.
- Empty the water container after every cycle. A full container can abort the next program.
- Clean the heat exchanger on the schedule in your booklet. Bosch's own pages give monthly or more often, depending on use.
- Wipe the moisture sensor. Bosch Kuwait tells owners to clean the stainless steel sensor regularly.
- Do not overload. A hand's width of space above the clothes is Bosch's US guide.
- Keep the air around the machine free. Do not box it in or stack objects against it.
- Spin properly first. A load that comes out of the washer dripping makes the dryer work harder.
- Do not ignore early signs. Cycles that creep longer, a faint squeal or a door that needs a push each tell you a fault is coming.
What to tell us when you book
The more precise the booking, the more likely the first visit ends in a finished repair. Have these ready:
- The model code, or the E-Nr and FD numbers. A photo of the rating plate or the booklet is enough.
- The type. Heat pump, condenser or vented, if you know.
- The symptom, in your own words. "Clothes are damp after a two-hour cotton cycle" is more useful than "it's broken".
- The code, if any, and when it appeared. At start, mid-cycle or at the end.
- What you have already tried. Say if you cleaned the filter, emptied the container, cleaned the heat exchanger, or reset the power.
- The load. A full drum or a half load, and the program.
- Age and history. How old the dryer is and whether it has been repaired before.
- Where it is. Stacked on a washer, in a cupboard or under a counter. The technician needs to know before arriving.
- Access details. Building name, apartment, parking, and any approval your building management needs for technicians.
If you have a video of the fault, such as the noise or the display behaviour, send it by WhatsApp. A ten-second clip can settle the diagnosis before the visit.
How a visit works and the warranty
You book online or by WhatsApp. We confirm a two-hour window, and the technician messages you on WhatsApp 30 minutes before arriving. On site, they isolate the dryer at the wall, diagnose the fault, show you the failed part where possible, and give you a written quote with the part number. You approve or decline. If you approve, the repair is done on that visit when the part is on the van; if the part has to be ordered, you get the lead time before you say yes. We test the dryer before we leave, and you receive a VAT invoice with the warranty end date.
Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the parts fitted and the labour for the repaired fault. If the same fault returns inside 90 days, we come back at no charge. We do not describe our parts as original Bosch. The part number is on your invoice, and our spare parts guide shows how to check it. The full process and what we do not cover are on the Bosch service center page. For other appliances, see Bosch washing machine repair and Bosch dishwasher repair.
We repair Bosch dryers across Dubai, with typical arrival times of 50 to 75 minutes after the technician sets off. Areas include Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Mirdif and Al Barsha. If your area is not listed, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you before you book. In towers and gated communities, send the building and apartment details with your booking so the technician is on the access list.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Bosch dryer not drying?
Start with the filter and the water container. Bosch Kuwait says to clean the filter after each use and to empty the container after every cycle. Then try a half load. If a half load still comes out damp after a clean filter and container, the heat exchanger or a sensor is the next suspect, and an inspection will tell which.
What does E01 or E02 mean on a Bosch dryer?
Bosch Kuwait says the fluff filter is blocked, either by fluff or by fabric softener residue that is difficult to detect. Clean the filter, rinse it with water and let it dry. Bosch's US page lists E02 under a second meaning too, so if the code returns after a clean filter, tell us the model.
What does E03 mean?
Bosch says the condensation drainage hose is blocked or kinked. Bosch Kuwait's fix is to loosen the hose clip on the siphon, remove the hose and clean the hose and the siphon spigot. Do it with the dryer switched off.
What does E06 mean?
Bosch Kuwait says E06 is a fault with the heating circuit and that only an experienced engineer can fix it. Do not open the machine. Note when the code appeared and book an inspection.
How often should I clean the heat exchanger?
Bosch's pages disagree. Bosch Kuwait says monthly and does not recommend DIY cleaning of heat pump dryers. Bosch Singapore says several times a month if you use the dryer more than twice a week and gives owner steps using water only. Follow the booklet for your model.
Why does my dryer take so long?
The usual causes are a blocked filter, a heat exchanger full of fluff, a dirty sensor, an overloaded drum and a load that was not spun enough. Fix those in that order. If the cycle is still long, book an inspection.
Can you repair a heat pump dryer?
We repair the filters, the water path, the sensors, the fan, the drum drive, the door and the control module. We do not repair the sealed heat pump circuit, meaning the compressor and refrigerant, and we tell you at the inspection if the fault is there.
Is it worth repairing a Bosch dryer?
Usually, yes, when the fault is a sensor, a belt, a roller, a latch or a hose. Compare the quote with the price of a comparable new dryer. The ACE listings we read on 2 November 2026 ran from AED 3,499 to AED 3,999, and most repairs cost a small share of that.
Will a repair affect my Bosch warranty?
That depends on your warranty terms, and we cannot read them for you. If your dryer is still in Bosch's warranty period, call Bosch first. If the warranty has ended, there is nothing to affect, and our 90-day warranty covers the repair we make.
