Bosch Serie 6 Washing Machine: Models, Features and Repair in Dubai

The Bosch Serie 6 is the third of Bosch's four washing machine ranges, above the Serie 2 and Serie 4 and below the Serie 8. Bosch's series page gives it automatic detergent dosing (i-DOS), the AntiStain Plus stain system, a touch display, a quiet brushless motor and leak protection with a warranty against water damage. It does not list Home Connect.

Not every Serie 6 has all of that. Bosch's own footnotes split the range: AntiStain Plus is standard on Serie 6 models without i-DOS, and one Bosch page for a 10 kg Serie 6 lists an LED display, not a touch screen. This guide shows how to tell the variants apart, which models UAE retailers list, what each feature does, how the Serie 6 compares with the Serie 4 and 8, and what owning one costs in Dubai, including repairs. It is written by an independent Bosch repair company, not by Bosch and not by a shop. We do not sell washing machines.

At a glance

  • On Bosch's series page: up to 9 kg, 400 to 1400 rpm, 48 dB washing and 72 dB spinning at best, AquaStop with a Bosch warranty against water damage, energy rating up to A+++ -30%
  • UAE retailer models we checked: WGA244A0GC (9 kg, 1400 rpm, i-DOS), WAT28S80GC (9 kg, 1400 rpm) and the built-in WIW24561GC (8 kg, 1200 rpm)
  • Bosch's Egypt site lists the WGA254AXEG as a 10 kg Serie 6, so you will see 10 kg figures online. We could not confirm that size on a UAE listing
  • One UAE retailer listed the WGA244A0GC at AED 2,399 (marked down from AED 2,799) on 2 November 2026. Check the current price before relying on it
  • Repairs in Dubai: typically AED 150 to 780 before 5% VAT, with a 90-day warranty on our repairs

Bosch Serie 6 washing machine: where it sits in the range

Bosch's series page compares four ranges. The number tells you the feature level, and Bosch calls its table a rough overview for general orientation only. Use it to see the pattern, and use the model's own specification for the facts.

Serie 2 Serie 4 Serie 6 Serie 8
Capacity on Bosch's series page Up to 7 kg Up to 8 kg Up to 9 kg Up to 10 kg
Spin speed range 400 to 1400 rpm 400 to 1400 rpm 400 to 1400 rpm 400 to 1600 rpm
Lowest noise listed (wash / spin) 59 / 77 dB 53 / 73 dB 48 / 72 dB 44 / 68 dB
Display Not listed LED display DirectSelect touch display ComfortControl Plus on HomeProfessional models, TFT display
Automatic dosing (i-DOS) Not listed Not listed Yes Yes
Stain removal Not listed Not listed AntiStain Plus, up to 4 stains AntiStain Plus, up to 16 stains
Home Connect (app control) Not listed Not listed Not listed Yes

The Serie 6 is where Bosch starts dosing the detergent for you and removing stains with a dedicated system. It stays below the Serie 8 on noise, spin speed and app control, and the stain system handles fewer stains.

Serie 6 models in the UAE

What UAE retailers list

We could not open a complete Serie 6 list for the UAE on Bosch's own site, so the table below uses retailer listings. They are labelled as retailer data, dated 2 November 2026, and none of them is a Bosch statement.

Model Type Capacity Spin speed Retailer facts
WGA244A0GC Freestanding front loader 9 kg 1400 rpm i-DOS, AntiStain System, AllergyPlus, SpeedPerfect, Reload, 55 dB, EcoSilence Drive, AED 2,399 (ACE)
WAT28S80GC Front loader 9 kg 1400 rpm EcoSilence Drive, AllergyPlus, SpeedPerfect, WaveDrum, ActiveWater Plus, LED display, AED 3,899, sold out (Jashanmal)
WIW24561GC Built-in front loader 8 kg 1200 rpm A+++, 66 dB, 3-star ESMA rating, Delay Timer, 12 programs, AED 3,824 (ACE, listed out of stock)

A few details from those pages are worth keeping.

  • WGA244A0GC. ACE lists dimensions of 84.8 × 59.8 × 58.8 cm, a depth of 104.9 cm with the door open at 90 degrees, an LED display with a countdown, and the Multiple Water Protection System. It lists no energy class and no weight.
  • WAT28S80GC. Jashanmal lists a one-year brand warranty and a 10-year warranty on the EcoSilence Drive. It gives no noise, size or energy figures.
  • WIW24561GC. ACE lists 81.8 × 59.6 × 54.4 cm and a weight of 70.9 kg. Built-in machines are shallower than freestanding ones, so check the niche before you buy.

Why other sizes and codes appear online

Searches for the Serie 6 mix 8 kg, 9 kg and 10 kg figures, and some queries ask for 13 kg, with codes that do not match the table. Bosch sells different models in different markets. Bosch's Egypt site lists the WGA254AXEG as a 10 kg Serie 6 at 1400 rpm with 54 dB washing, 75 dB spinning, i-DOS and a brushless motor, with a five-year overall warranty and a ten-year motor warranty on that page. Bosch's Iraq site lists four 9 kg models (WGG244Z2BY, WGG244Z4BY, WGK244Z0ME and WGK244ZRME).

These are genuine Bosch machines, but a machine from another market can differ in voltage, plug, warranty and part codes. Match the code on your invoice to the code on your rating plate before you trust any online specification.

A note on top loaders

Searches include "bosch 13 kg top loader serie 6". The Bosch Serie 6 pages we read list front loaders. We did not find a Serie 6 top loader on any Bosch page, so treat a listing that calls a top loader a "Serie 6" with caution and ask the seller for the model code and Bosch's own page for it.

i-DOS or not: the split that decides what you buy

The most useful fact in this guide is also the least advertised. Bosch's series table has a footnote on stain removal: AntiStain Plus is standard on HomeProfessional models, on Serie 8 and on "Series 6 models without i-DOS". That sentence tells you the range is not one machine. The WGA244A0GC listing on ACE shows i-DOS together with an AntiStain System, so the footnote should not be read as a rule that the two never meet. The model's specification is what counts.

Question Serie 6 with i-DOS Serie 6 without i-DOS
Detergent The machine doses it from a tank You measure it into the drawer
Stain removal Check the specification. Bosch's footnote ties AntiStain Plus to models without i-DOS AntiStain Plus is standard, per Bosch's footnote
Daily effort Fill the tank when it runs low Pour detergent for every load
What can fail Dosing parts as well as the usual washing parts The usual washing parts

If you wash a mixed household load most days, dosing saves effort and can cut over-dosing, and one owner on ProductReview reported using noticeably less detergent and softener. If you prefer to choose detergent by the load, buy a model without i-DOS. Neither choice is wrong, but you should know which one you are buying before you pay.

Serie 6 features explained

Bosch's series page lists the features below. The right-hand column says what each means in practice, and what it means if something goes wrong.

Feature What Bosch says What it means in practice
i-DOS "Saves water and detergent thanks to automatic, millilitre-precise dosing" and "dispenses just the right amount of detergent for each load based on fabric and soil level" A tank-fed dosing system. Models that have it need the tank kept filled and clean
AntiStain Plus "Effectively removes up to 4 of the most stubborn stains" A stain-removal option. Bosch limits it to some Serie 6 models
EcoSilence Drive "Durable, energy-saving motor with 10-year warranty" A brushless motor, so no carbon brushes to wear. The warranty terms vary by seller
DirectSelect "Convenient touch display" Touch controls on some models. Others use an LED display
ActiveWater Plus "Uses less water by detecting the load size" The machine adjusts water to the load
VarioDrum "Evenly distributes water to gently and efficiently wash without creasing garments" Bosch's drum design. Retailers also use the name WaveDrum
Sportswear and Down programs "Properly and gently cleans active gear or jackets and duvets" Dedicated programs. Check your manual for the loads they suit
AllergyPlus "Meets the needs of allergy sufferers and those with sensitive skin" A program with longer temperature stages and an extra rinse, according to a retailer listing
SpeedPerfect "Reduces a programme's duration by up to 65%" An option that shortens a program. The manual lists which programs it works with
Reload "Lets you add items to a load after pushing start" A way to add a forgotten sock mid-cycle
Time delay "Lets you set a convenient time for the load to finish" You set the finishing time, and the machine starts later to match
Drum Clean with reminder "Keeps your washer smelling fresh and pleasant" A cleaning program and a prompt to run it
AquaStop Water-damage protection with a Bosch warranty against water damage A safety valve in the inlet hose and a leak sensor, so the machine stops when it detects water where it should not be

Several of these change how you live with the machine, so they get a closer look.

i-DOS: how it works and what it asks of you

i-DOS keeps detergent in a tank in the machine and releases a measured amount for each wash, based on the load size and soil level Bosch says it detects. Many i-DOS models also have a second tank for fabric softener. Bosch's dosing systems are built for liquid products, so check the manual for what your model accepts before you fill a tank.

That brings two habits. First, fill the tank before it empties, because the manual for your model says what the machine does when a tank is empty, and none of the answers is a good wash. Second, follow the cleaning step in the manual when you change products. If dosing stops working, a technician needs to look at the tank, the pump and the hoses, and the repair table below gives the likely cost.

AntiStain Plus

Bosch says AntiStain Plus removes up to four of the most stubborn stains on the Serie 6, and up to 16 on the Serie 8. The page does not say which stains, and we do not guess. Treat it as a stain-targeting program, follow the stain guidance in the manual, and do not expect it to replace pre-treating oil or ink.

One page for a 10 kg Serie 6 describes an "Automatic AntiStain System" that reliably removes "four common stains". Bosch uses different names in different places for what looks like the same idea. The model's specification tells you what is actually fitted.

EcoSilence Drive: the motor

EcoSilence Drive is Bosch's brushless motor, and Bosch advertises a 10-year warranty on it. A brushless motor has no carbon brushes, the parts that wear out in older motors and cause weak spinning. The warranty text depends on the seller and market: the Bosch Egypt page for the WGA254AXEG gives a five-year overall and a ten-year motor warranty, and Jashanmal's page for the WAT28S80GC gives one year on the machine and ten on the motor. Ask for the terms in writing, and keep the invoice.

The touch display

Bosch's series page gives the Serie 6 a DirectSelect touch display. Two product pages we read describe LED displays with a countdown instead: ACE for the WGA244A0GC and Bosch Egypt for the WGA254AXEG, which says "no touchscreen". Both are 9 or 10 kg Serie 6 machines. If a touch display matters to you, confirm it for the exact model. A failed panel is normally a part replacement and not a small fix, and the repair table shows the range.

AquaStop

Bosch lists AquaStop with a warranty against water damage on the Serie 4, 6 and 8. In practice, it is a safety valve in the inlet hose and a leak sensor in the base. If the hose leaks, the valve closes. If water gathers in the base, the machine stops and may try to pump it out. Do not bypass it, and do not reset a leak code and carry on, because the water is still coming from somewhere. The warranty has terms of its own, so ask Bosch for them in writing.

Programs and options worth using

The Serie 6 has more programs than the Serie 4, but a few do most of the work. These come from Bosch's series page and the retailer listings, and your manual has the final list.

Program or option What it is for Watch out for
Cotton and Eco Everyday cotton loads Eco cycles are long. Plan around the finishing time
Easy Care Synthetics and mixed fabrics Do not overfill. A full drum washes poorly
Delicates and Wool Fine fabrics Check the care label for temperature and spin
Sportswear Technical fabrics Skip fabric softener on sports fabrics unless the label allows it
Down Jackets and duvets Check the drum size and the weight limit for bulky items
AllergyPlus Sensitive skin and bedding Longer cycle
Quick 15 / 30 and SpeedPerfect Lightly soiled items Not for heavy soil. A short cycle saves time and cleans less
Drum Clean Freshening the drum Run it empty, and run it when the reminder appears

The Reload function is useful in a household where something always gets missed. Bosch says it lets you add items after you press start. The window for adding items depends on the model and the point in the cycle, so read your manual before you rely on it. The manual also lists which options combine, which varies by model.

Serie 6 vs Serie 4 vs Serie 8

The series page gives a clear ordering. These are the points that decide most purchases.

If you want Serie 4 Serie 6 Serie 8
Lowest wash / spin noise Bosch lists 53 / 73 dB 48 / 72 dB 44 / 68 dB
Detergent dosing Not listed i-DOS, on models that have it i-DOS
Stain removal Not listed AntiStain Plus, up to 4 stains AntiStain Plus, up to 16 stains
Display LED Touch on some models, LED on others TFT
App control Not listed Not listed Home Connect
Top spin speed 1400 rpm 1400 rpm 1600 rpm
Biggest drum on Bosch's series page 8 kg 9 kg 10 kg

Choose the Serie 6 if you want dosing or stain removal beyond the Serie 4 and do not need app control or the quietest running.

Stay with the Serie 4 if you wash by habit, are happy to measure detergent, and prefer a simpler machine with fewer parts to fail. Our Serie 4 guide covers it in full.

Look at the Serie 8 if you want the app, the higher spin speed or the lowest noise Bosch lists. It is also the only range of the four with Home Connect on Bosch's table.

We have no failure-rate data for any series, so we do not claim that one range lasts longer than another. More features mean more parts, which is a point about repair exposure and not about reliability.

Which size: 8, 9 or 10 kg?

Bosch's UAE buying guide suggests an 8 or 9 kg machine for homes of three to four people and a 10 kg machine for five or more, with 8 to 10 kg for bulky items such as duvets. The Serie 6 on Bosch's series page tops out at 9 kg, while Bosch's Egypt site lists a 10 kg Serie 6, so confirm the size of the exact model rather than assuming it from the series. The 10 kg machines on Bosch's UAE list are Serie 8 models, covered in our Serie 8 guide.

A few practical points apply whatever size you choose.

  • Capacity is a dry cotton figure. Real loads are lighter than the maximum for good cleaning, and a full drum rinses worse.
  • Larger drums need space. The WGA244A0GC needs 104.9 cm of floor depth with the door open, according to ACE. Check the door swing as well as the cabinet.
  • Built-in machines are smaller. The WIW24561GC is 8 kg and shallower than a freestanding 9 kg machine, which is the trade you make for a fitted kitchen.
  • Do not buy the biggest drum by default. If you wash small loads, a machine that detects load size helps, and a drum that is half full wastes the capacity you paid for.

Living with i-DOS: tanks, products and cleaning

If your Serie 6 has i-DOS, the tank becomes part of your routine. The manual for your model is the authority, and these habits apply in general.

  1. Check the tank level before you start. A tank that runs dry stops dosing.
  2. Use only the product type the manual names. Do not put a different type of product into the tank.
  3. Clean the tank on the schedule the manual gives. Residue builds up over time, especially if you leave the machine for weeks.
  4. Treat the detergent drawer separately. Bosch lists it as easy to clean, and it still collects residue.
  5. Wipe the tank cover and the area around it. A sticky film means product has leaked or overflowed.
  6. Ask before you change brands. The manual or Bosch can tell you whether a change needs the cleaning step first.
  7. If you leave for weeks, check what the manual says about emptying the tanks, so product does not dry in the lines.

A dosing fault may show as a code on the display, or as too much or too little detergent in the wash. Photograph the display and tell us the symptom when you book.

Installing a Serie 6 correctly

Many early problems come from installation. Whether a shop delivers it or you do, check these before the first wash. Your manual gives the exact steps for your model.

  1. Remove the transport bolts at the back. A machine run with them still in will shake violently and can damage itself. Keep the bolts for the next move.
  2. Level the machine. Adjust the feet until it does not rock when you press down on the diagonal corners, and tighten the lock nuts. The Egypt page for the WGA254AXEG gives up to 12 mm of foot adjustment.
  3. Connect the inlet hose. Hand-tighten it, check it is not kinked, open the tap fully and look for drips after the first fill. The Egypt page gives a 160 cm power cord, and notes that the machine has no hot-water inlet, so connect it to cold water.
  4. Fit the drain hose without kinks, following the manual's guidance on its height and position.
  5. Fill the i-DOS tanks if your model has them, following the manual.
  6. Run a first empty wash, and watch it fill, wash, drain and spin. One owner's review advises running an empty cycle first to clear water left from the factory test.

The machine weighs about 76 kg on the Egypt page, and about 71 kg for the built-in WIW24561GC on ACE. Plan the carry, the stairs and the lift before delivery day.

Buying checklist: what to confirm before you pay

The Serie 6 name covers machines with different features, so a few questions are worth asking the seller before you pay. Ask for the answers in writing, or find them on the model's own specification page.

  1. What is the exact E-Nr? The code on the invoice should match the code on the listing and, later, the rating plate.
  2. Does it have i-DOS? If you want dosing, confirm it. If you want to pour your own detergent, confirm it does not.
  3. Which display does it have? Touch controls on one Serie 6 and an LED display on another are both real.
  4. What size is the drum? Ask for the capacity in kilograms, not the series.
  5. Is it freestanding or built in? A built-in machine needs a niche and a door panel. A freestanding one needs 104.9 cm of floor depth with the door open, if the ACE figure for the WGA244A0GC is typical.
  6. What is the warranty, and who gives it? Listings we saw state one year, and Bosch advertises a ten-year warranty on the motor. Ask how the motor warranty is claimed.
  7. Who delivers, connects and removes the old machine? These are often separate charges.
  8. Is it in stock? Two of the three listings we checked showed out of stock, so ask for a delivery date.
  9. What does a leak claim need? Bosch gives a warranty against water damage with AquaStop, so ask for the terms and keep the invoice.

On delivery, check the machine for dents before the team leaves, and check that the transport bolts are fitted, so that you know to remove them.

Owning a Serie 6 in Dubai: care and servicing

A Serie 6 needs very little, and most of it is ten minutes a month.

  1. Clean the pump filter. Unplug the machine, put a tray under the service flap at the bottom front, and open the filter. Coins, hair grips and lint collect there. Bosch's own steps for a drainage fault are to close the tap, switch off, unplug, let the water cool, empty the machine through the small drain hose, then clean the pump cover and housing. Our washing machine guide has the full steps.
  2. Wipe the door seal. Clean the folds, where hair and residue collect, and leave the door ajar after the last wash of the day. A ProductReview owner reported water pooling in the seal that dripped onto the floor when the door opened, and soap scum and hairs within days. That is one owner's experience, and it is a good reason to wipe the seal.
  3. Wash the detergent drawer.
  4. Run the Drum Clean program when the machine reminds you.
  5. Check the hoses for kinks and the connections for drips.
  6. Check the machine is level.

Know the signs that a repair is due:

  • Water takes longer to drain, or some stays in the drum after a cycle
  • A new smell that survives a hot cleaning cycle
  • A rumble, knock or squeal that grows with spin speed
  • Drips at the door, the drawer or under the machine
  • A code on the display, or a cycle that stops without a reason
  • Detergent dosing that seems wrong, on an i-DOS model
  • Clothes coming out wetter than before after the final spin

Each of these is cheaper to fix when it first appears. For a check by a technician, the AED 99 inspection looks at all of these, runs a test cycle and gives a written quote for anything that is wearing. You decide what to approve.

What a Serie 6 repair costs in Dubai

A Serie 6 has the same fault list as other Bosch front loaders, plus the parts that belong to dosing and the touch panel. The table shows typical prices, excluding 5% VAT. The AED 99 inspection is deducted from the repair if you go ahead.

Fault Usual cause Typical fix Time on site Price (AED)
Not draining Blocked pump filter, failed drain pump Clear the filter, replace the pump 45 to 90 min 150 – 320
Not filling Inlet screen, inlet valve Clean the screen, replace the valve 45 to 90 min 160 – 300
Not heating Scaled or failed element, temperature sensor Replace the element or sensor 60 to 120 min 260 – 480
Leaking Worn door seal, hose, pump housing Replace the seal, hose or housing 45 to 90 min 180 – 380
Not spinning Motor wiring, imbalance sensor, bearings Replace the failed part 60 to 120 min 220 – 520
Door won't open Lock actuator, blocked drain Release the door, replace the actuator 45 to 90 min 160 – 340
Dosing fault (i-DOS) Tank sensor, dosing pump, blocked line Clean or replace the dosing parts 60 to 120 min 280 – 620
Display or touch panel fault Failed panel or control module Replace the panel or module 60 to 150 min 320 – 780
Noisy drum Worn bearings, shock absorbers Replace bearings or dampers 2 to 4 hours 380 – 780

The part and the access decide where in the range a quote falls. A drain pump costs far less than a control module or a set of bearings, and a built-in machine takes longer to pull out. Our washing machine repair guide explains each fault and its error codes, including E17, E18 and F21.

Repair or replace a Serie 6?

Use a real new-machine price as the reference. The 9 kg WGA244A0GC was listed at AED 2,399 on ACE on 2 November 2026. A workable rule is that a repair costing more than about half of a comparable new machine, or a machine past ten years old with two serious faults, is a case for replacing. Half of that price is about AED 1,200.

The repair prices in these examples come from our placeholder ranges, so check your own written quote.

  • Three-year-old Serie 6, drain pump failed, quote AED 300. That is 13% of the new price. Repair it.
  • Six-year-old Serie 6, dosing fault, quote AED 520. That is 22% of the new price. The machine is young, so repair it.
  • Eleven-year-old Serie 6, worn bearings and a failing touch panel, quote AED 1,250. That is 52% of the new price, on an old machine with two faults. Replace it.

Two points tilt the decision. A new machine comes with a manufacturer warranty, and the listings we saw showed one year, while our repairs carry 90 days on the repaired fault. And a repair keeps a machine you know in a space it already fits. We will tell you when a repair is not worth it, and if you decline, you owe only the inspection fee.

How to book, and the warranty on our repairs

You book online or by WhatsApp. We confirm a two-hour window, and the technician messages you on WhatsApp 30 minutes before arriving. On site, they diagnose the fault, show you the failed part where possible, and give you a written quote with the part number. Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the parts fitted and the labour for the repaired fault. We list the part number on a VAT invoice. If your Serie 6 is still inside Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch first. Our service center page explains how to decide, and our customer care guide lists Bosch's own contact routes.

We repair Bosch washing machines across Dubai, with typical arrival times of 50 to 75 minutes after the technician sets off. Areas include Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Mirdif and Al Barsha.

If you are looking for a Serie 6 that also dries, see our Bosch Serie 6 washer dryer guide.

Frequently asked questions

What does Bosch Serie 6 mean for a washing machine?

Serie 6 is the third of Bosch's four washing machine ranges, between the Serie 4 and the Serie 8. Bosch's series page gives it i-DOS, AntiStain Plus, a touch display, a 48 dB wash noise level at best and AquaStop with a warranty against water damage, though not every model has every feature.

What is the difference between the Serie 4 and the Serie 6?

Bosch lists automatic dosing, AntiStain Plus and a touch display for the Serie 6, and none of the three for the Serie 4. The Serie 6 is also listed as quieter (48 dB against 53 dB when washing). Both spin up to 1400 rpm.

Which Bosch Serie 6 washing machines are sold in the UAE?

UAE retailers list the WGA244A0GC (9 kg), the WAT28S80GC (9 kg) and the built-in WIW24561GC (8 kg). Bosch's Egypt site lists a 10 kg WGA254AXEG, which we could not confirm on a UAE listing. Check the E-Nr on any machine you buy.

Does every Serie 6 have i-DOS?

No. Bosch's own footnote says AntiStain Plus is standard on "Series 6 models without i-DOS", which shows the range includes models without it. Check the specification of the exact model.

Does the Bosch Serie 6 have Wi-Fi or Home Connect?

Bosch's series page lists Home Connect for the Serie 8 only. The Bosch Egypt page for the WGA254AXEG says no. Check the specification of the exact model before buying one for its app.

Is there a Bosch Serie 6 top loader?

We found Serie 6 front loaders on every Bosch page we read and no Serie 6 top loader. Be careful with a listing that says otherwise, and ask for the model code.

Is a Bosch Serie 6 worth repairing?

Usually, if the machine is under about ten years old and the repair costs less than about half of a comparable new machine. At the AED 2,399 retailer price, that threshold is about AED 1,200. Drain pumps, door seals, inlet valves and locks are routine repairs.

How much does a Serie 6 repair cost in Dubai?

Most repairs fall between AED 150 and 780, excluding 5% VAT. A blocked filter is the cheapest, and bearings, a dosing fault or a display module the most. The AED 99 inspection is deducted from the repair if you go ahead.

Where is the model number on a Serie 6 washing machine?

On the rating plate, which is usually on the edge of the door opening or on the back. The model number is the E-Nr, for example WGA244A0GC. Photograph the plate and send it with your booking.
