Bosch Washer Dryer Repair in Dubai

A Bosch washer dryer that washes but leaves clothes damp, or dries but will not drain, has a fault on one half of the machine. Working out which half takes about five minutes, and it decides what the technician brings, what the repair costs and whether it is worth doing. We diagnose Bosch washer dryers at your home, give you a fixed price in AED before any work starts, and visit the same day in most areas if you book before 4 pm.

We are an independent Bosch appliance repair company, not the manufacturer. If your machine is still inside Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch first. Our independent service center page explains how to decide.

At a glance

  • Inspection and written quote: AED 99, deducted from the repair if you go ahead
  • Typical repair ranges: AED 150 to 780, excluding 5% VAT
  • Warranty: 90 days on parts and labour for the repaired fault
  • Hours: every day, 7 am to 10 pm, by WhatsApp or online booking

Bosch washer dryer repair: what we fix and which models

We repair Bosch washer dryers in homes across Dubai: freestanding and built-in combination machines that wash and dry in one drum. If you own a washer and a separate tumble dryer instead, the guides for Bosch washing machines and Bosch dryers apply.

A washer dryer shares one drum, one door and one control module between two very different jobs. The wash side uses the pump, inlet valve, motor and door lock. The drying side adds a heater, a temperature sensor, a fan, a moisture sensor and a path that carries moist air away and condenses it. A fault on either side stops the cycle, and a few parts, such as the control module, the drum bearings and the door seal, serve both. That sharing is why a combination machine can fail in ways a separate washer or dryer cannot.

The series number tells you the feature level, not the parts inside. The number that matters is the E-Nr on the rating plate, which is usually inside the door opening or on the back panel. Photograph it before you call. With the E-Nr, a technician can check part availability before the visit, which often decides whether the repair finishes in one visit or two. If you are not sure whether your Bosch is a washer dryer, the plate or the manual will say "wash and dry" or list two capacities, one for washing and a smaller one for drying.

Wash side or dry side? A five-minute test

Run through the test before you book. It costs nothing, and the answer changes the call.

  1. Run a short wash with no drying. Pick a 30°C or quick program and let it finish. Does it fill, wash, drain and spin normally, and does the door unlock afterwards?
  2. Dry a small load. If the wash side is fine, put in a few damp items and run a drying program on its own. Does the drum turn, does the machine warm up, and does the cycle end with clothes that feel warm?
  3. Note what happens at the changeover. Some faults only appear when the machine moves from washing to drying, so write down whether the problem begins at that point.
  4. Check the drum after a dry cycle. Is there standing water in the drum or the seal, and are the clothes warm, cold or still wet?

The results point in different directions:

What you see Most likely side Where to read next
Will not fill, drain, spin or start at all Wash side Wash-side faults below
Washes well, clothes come out damp after drying Drying side Drying-side faults below
Washes well, but the drying cycle never gets warm Drying side (heating) No heat or lukewarm
Stops or errors only when it moves from washing to drying Control or changeover Tell us when you book
Drying works with a small load but not a full one Not a fault Why it does not dry a full load
Water on the floor during washing Wash side Wash-side faults below

A wash-side failure gets the same repair as on a standalone Bosch washing machine, and our washing machine guide covers it in full. If the drying side fails, the rest of this page is the guide.

Wash-side faults

On the wash side, a washer dryer behaves like a Bosch front-loader, and shares its faults. In summary:

  • Will not drain (E18 or F18 on some models): a blocked pump filter, a kinked drain hose or a failed pump. Bosch's own steps are to close the tap, unplug the machine, let the water cool, empty it through the small drain hose, then clean the pump cover and housing. The full steps, with the safety points, are in our washing machine guide.
  • Will not fill (E17 or F17 on some models): tap, hose, inlet screens, then the inlet valve. On a washer dryer it matters twice, because some models also use water from the supply to condense moisture during drying (your manual says whether yours does). A weak supply can then affect drying as well as washing.
  • Leaks: the door seal is the usual source at the front. Water under the machine after a dry cycle is a separate case, covered below.
  • Noise and violent spin: transport bolts, an unlevel machine, an unbalanced load or worn bearings.
  • Door will not open: do not force it. Wait for the lock to release, check that the machine has drained, and check the child lock.

Typical prices for these repairs are in the table further down.

Drying-side faults

Most calls about a Bosch washer dryer are about drying. Each section below gives the usual causes, one safe check, the sign that you should stop, and what happens when you message us.

One rule covers all of them. If there is a burning smell, water on the floor near the plug, or the power trips every time you start the machine, switch the machine off at the wall, close the tap and message us. Do not run another cycle.

Clothes come out damp after drying

Start with the load, because it is the commonest cause and costs nothing to check. A washer dryer is built to dry much less than it washes. Bosch's own product page for a Serie 6 washer dryer lists 10 kg for washing and 6 kg for drying, and the figure is typical of the design. A full wash load put through a drying program will always come out damp. The next section covers this in detail.

With the right load size and clothes still damp, check these in order:

  1. The lint filter or condenser access. Washer dryers collect lint, and a clogged path stops moisture leaving the drum. Bosch's guidance for its standalone dryers is to clean the lint filter after every drying cycle. Check your manual for where the filter or condenser access sits on your model, and clear it.
  2. The program. A timed program dries for a fixed time whatever the load; an automatic program stops when the machine senses dryness. Run the other type to compare. A difference between the two can point to the moisture sensor.
  3. The final spin. Clothes that come out of the wash wetter than usual take much longer to dry. If the drum is not spinning fast at the end of the wash, the drying side is being blamed for a wash-side problem.
  4. The water supply. If your model condenses with water from the supply, a closed or weak tap can lengthen drying. Make sure the tap is fully open.

Message us when the load is right, the filter is clear and the clothes still come out damp. The likely causes are a failing heater, a temperature sensor reading wrongly, a blocked duct or fan, or a condenser that needs professional cleaning. One of Bosch's regional support pages says the same about a machine that heats but does not dry: have the condenser cleaned by a technician, and leave faulty parts to a professional. Typical range: AED 180 to 520, depending on the part.

No heat, or lukewarm drying

The drum turns, the cycle counts down, and the clothes come out cold or barely warm. The display may show a code, or nothing.

The heater circuit sits behind the drum and carries mains voltage, so there is no safe DIY check here. What you can do is rule out a program problem: run a normal-sized load, within the drying capacity, on an intensive drying program before you book.

Tell us how the machine behaves. A machine that gets warm and dries slowly has a different fault from one that stays cold. A cycle that stops partway and shows a code has a different one again. We test the heater's resistance and the sensor reading on site. A heating repair usually falls between AED 280 and 520, depending on the part and the access.

The drying cycle runs too long, or ends early

Two opposite complaints, with a shared cause in the moisture and temperature sensors.

A cycle that runs for hours means the machine does not believe the clothes are dry. Detergent residue and limescale can coat the sensor strips inside the drum opening over time, and a coated sensor can read wet when the load is dry. Bosch's guidance for its standalone dryers is to clean the moisture sensor with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner. On a washer dryer, wipe the metal strips at the drum opening, rinse the cloth, wipe again and dry them. White vinegar on a cloth dissolves limescale.

A cycle that ends early with damp clothes means the sensor may be reading dry too soon, or the machine may be using a timed program. Check the program first.

If cleaning the sensors does not change the behaviour, tell us. A failed sensor or a faulty control module will not respond to cleaning. Typical range for a sensor replacement: AED 180 to 340.

Lint, condenser and airflow

A washer dryer moves air through the drum, past the clothes, through a path where the moisture condenses, and back round. Lint is what blocks that path.

The usual sign of an airflow problem is drying that has slowly got worse over months. Cleaning the lint filter is the first step. Clearing the condenser and the ducts behind it is the next, and Bosch's regional guidance is to have a clogged condenser cleaned by a technician. A technician can reach the duct and the fan, remove the build-up and check that the fan turns freely.

Do not run a drying cycle with a lint filter or condenser cover removed, and do not push anything sharp into the ducts. Typical range for a condenser and duct clean: AED 180 to 320.

A burning smell or a very hot machine

A hot, scorched smell during drying is a stop sign. The usual causes are lint caught on the heater, an overloaded drum, an item such as a rubber-backed mat that has been through the dryer, or a failing heater. Switch the machine off at the wall, leave the door closed for a few minutes until the drum cools, then open it and look. A scorched smell with nothing visible means the heater or its wiring needs a technician before the next cycle.

Do not use a washer dryer that smells of burning, whatever the reason, until it has been checked. A machine that seems much hotter than usual during drying is also a reason to stop and message us. Typical range after a check: AED 280 to 520 if the heater is at fault, less if the cause is lint.

Water in the drum or on the floor after drying

A little moisture in the door seal after a drying cycle is normal. A pool of water in the drum, or water on the floor, is not.

On a condenser washer dryer, the moisture the machine removes has to drain away. If the drain is slow or blocked, water is left in the drum. The cause is the same drain path as on the wash side: the pump filter, the hose and the pump. Clean the pump filter, check the hose for kinks, and run a drain program.

Water on the floor after a drying cycle, rather than a washing cycle, points to the condensing path, such as a split hose or a loose connection in the condenser area. Stop using the machine and message us on WhatsApp. Typical range: AED 180 to 380.

Why it does not dry a full load

Most "my washer dryer does not dry" calls are a load-size problem, not a fault. It is worth five minutes to rule it out before you pay for a visit.

A washer dryer has two capacities. The wash capacity is the larger figure, and the drying capacity is smaller because drying needs air to move through the clothes, and a crowded drum blocks it. Bosch's page for a Serie 6 washer dryer, for example, shows 10 kg for washing and 6 kg for a wash-and-dry cycle. The same machine will dry a 6 kg load properly and leave a 10 kg load damp, whatever the program.

Your own machine will have its own figures, printed on the front or in the manual. Use them:

Situation What happens What to do
A full wash load put through a drying program Clothes come out damp or the cycle runs very long Split the load, or dry only up to the drying capacity
Towels, jeans and bedding in one load Heavy fabrics hold water, and the drum fills with wet bulk Dry heavy items on their own, in a smaller load
A very small load of one or two items Automatic programs can misjudge dryness Add a few items, or use a timed program
Delicate or synthetic items They dry faster and can be damaged by too much heat Use the program for those fabrics, and check the care label
Wet clothes from a low-speed spin The drying side has to remove much more water Use the highest spin your fabrics allow before drying

Bosch's product listing for that model names three drying options: a Wash & Dry 60-minute program, autoDry and intensive dry. The names differ between ranges, so look for equivalents on your dial. In practice there are three kinds: a combined wash-and-dry program, an automatic dry that stops when the sensor decides the load is dry, and a timed or intensive dry. Use the automatic program for mixed loads, a timed program for a small, known load, and the intensive program for heavy items.

A final point on loading: leave space. Bosch's guidance for its standalone dryers is to leave about a hand's width above the clothes. A drum packed to the top gives the air nowhere to go.

If you have tried a load inside the drying capacity, with a clean filter and a good final spin, and the clothes are still damp, you have a fault, and the section above on damp clothes tells you what to expect.

Error codes on a washer dryer

An error code tells you which circuit the machine is worried about, not which part has failed. On a washer dryer, that gives you two difficulties.

The first is that the wash side generally follows the codes of Bosch's front-loading washing machines. The ones we see most often are E17 (or F17) for water not entering in time and E18 (or F18) for water not leaving in time. Our error code library covers them, including E17, E18 and F21, and the washing machine guide gives a safe check for each.

The second is that the drying side has no single published code list that we can point you to with confidence. Bosch publishes code tables for its washing machines, dishwashers and standalone dryers, but we have not found one for washer dryers. The lists on other repair sites disagree with each other about what the same code means. Rather than give you a table you cannot trust, we tell you what to do with a code:

  • Photograph the display while the code shows, and send it to us.
  • Note where in the cycle it appeared: filling, washing, draining, spinning, drying, or at the changeover.
  • Note what the machine was doing: a heavy load, a long program, a power cut just before.
  • Check the manual for your model. It lists the codes for your range, in its own wording.
  • Reset once. Switch the machine off at the wall for a few minutes and restart. If the same code returns, do not keep restarting. Each restart asks a failing part to work again.

A code that appears only during drying points to the drying side. A code that appears in the first minutes of a wash points to the wash side. That alone narrows a diagnosis.

What a Bosch washer dryer repair costs in Dubai

The AED 99 inspection includes the visit, the diagnosis and a written quote. If you approve the repair, the AED 99 comes off the repair price. If you decline, it is all you pay. The table shows typical prices by fault, all excluding 5% VAT.

Fault Usual cause Typical fix Time on site Price (AED)
Not draining Blocked pump filter, failed drain pump Clear the filter, replace the pump 45 to 90 min 150 – 320
Not filling Inlet screens, inlet valve Clean the screens, replace the valve 45 to 90 min 160 – 300
Damp clothes, airflow blocked Lint in the condenser, duct or fan Clean the condenser and ducts 60 to 90 min 180 – 320
No heat or lukewarm Heater, thermostat, temperature sensor Replace the failed part 60 to 120 min 280 – 520
Cycle runs too long Coated or failed moisture sensor Clean or replace the sensor 45 to 90 min 180 – 340
Leaking Door seal, hose, condensing path Replace the seal or hose 45 to 120 min 180 – 380
Not spinning or noisy Motor, imbalance sensor, worn bearings Replace the failed part 60 to 240 min 220 – 780
Won't start or stops at changeover Door lock, control module Replace the lock, or repair or replace the module 60 to 150 min 250 – 650

Three things move a quote within its range. The part itself matters most: a drain pump costs far less than a control module or a set of bearings. Access matters too, since a built-in machine behind a cabinet panel takes longer to pull out and refit. And stock: if the part is not on the van, the price is the same but you wait for a second visit.

A worked example: your Bosch washer dryer washes well but leaves clothes cold and damp, and the technician finds a failed heater. The all-in price is AED 420, and the AED 99 inspection is included in that figure. VAT adds AED 21, so you pay AED 441. If you decline the quote, you pay AED 99 plus AED 4.95 VAT, a total of AED 103.95.

Payment is by card, cash or bank transfer, and every visit gets a VAT invoice with the part numbers listed.

Repair or replace?

For a washer dryer the question has a second half: if you replace it, do you buy another combination machine, or a washer and a separate dryer? Two machines usually cost more and need more floor space, which is often the reason a combination machine was chosen in the first place. A repair that keeps the original machine usually saves the most.

Compare the written quote with the price of a comparable new machine. A workable rule: if the repair costs more than about half of a new equivalent, or if the machine is past ten years old and has had two serious faults, replace it. The examples below use assumed new-machine prices for the arithmetic, so check current prices before you decide.

  • Four-year-old Serie 6 washer dryer, heater failed, quote AED 450. A comparable new machine at about AED 3,500 puts the repair at 13%. Repair it.
  • Nine-year-old Serie 4, worn drum bearings, quote AED 700. A new machine at about AED 3,000 puts the repair at 23%. If the seal and pump are sound and the drying side works, repair it. If the drying has also become slow and the seal is split, the next bill is close, so consider replacing.
  • Eleven-year-old machine with worn bearings and a failed control module, combined quote AED 1,300. Against about AED 3,000 new, that is 43% on a machine with two serious faults and past the age where more follow. Replace it.

We will tell you when a repair is not worth it. If our advice is to buy new, you owe only the inspection fee.

Features that change the repair

Bosch markets washer dryers by series and by named features. A few change what a technician checks.

Feature What it is What it changes in a repair
waveDrum Bosch's drum design, on selected models The drum and its bearings are specific to the range, so bearing work depends on the E-Nr
SilentPowerDrive Bosch's name for the motor on selected models The motor type decides the parts, so motor work depends on the E-Nr
Drying options Timed, automatic and intensive dry programs, with names that vary by range A fault on only one program type points to the sensor, not the heater
Home Connect A Wi-Fi module and app, on selected models Connection problems are usually the router or the app. We check the module only if the machine also misbehaves

The series number (2, 4, 6 or 8) tells you the feature level, not the parts list. Always give the E-Nr when you ask for a quote or a part. For the Serie 6 range, including how its capacities and series labels differ between sources, see our Bosch Serie 6 washer dryer guide. For the Serie 4, including the 9/5 kg models Bosch UAE lists, see our Bosch Serie 4 washer dryer guide.

Washer dryer servicing: what it is and when you need it

Service and repair are different jobs. A repair fixes a fault. A service checks a working machine and prevents the faults that come from lint, scale and wear. A washer dryer needs more of this than a plain washer, because the drying side adds a lint path and a condenser that a washer does not have.

For a machine that works but needs a check, the AED 99 inspection does the job. The technician examines the lint filter and condenser access, the ducts and fan, the door seal, the hoses and connections, the pump filter and drain, the heater and the sensors, runs a test cycle, tells you what is wearing, and quotes any repair. You decide what to approve.

You can do the useful part yourself in about ten minutes:

  1. Unplug the machine. Clean the lint filter, or the condenser access if your model has one, as the manual shows.
  2. Clean the pump filter, with a tray under the service flap, as in our washing machine guide.
  3. Wipe the door seal, including the folds at the bottom, and check for caught lint and hair.
  4. Wipe the moisture sensor strips at the drum opening.
  5. Pull out the detergent drawer and wash it.
  6. Check the inlet and drain hoses for kinks.
  7. Run an empty hot cycle with a washing machine cleaner.

The habits that matter most are cheap:

  • Clean the lint filter after every drying cycle. Bosch gives the same advice for its dryers.
  • Dry within the drying capacity. Overloading is a common cause of damp clothes and of long cycles.
  • Measure the detergent. Too much leaves residue on the sensors and in the seal.
  • Leave the door and drawer open between cycles so the seal dries.
  • Run a hot wash now and then. A steady diet of cold washes can feed residue buildup in the drum and the seal.

For a longer schedule covering every Bosch appliance, see the maintenance table on our Bosch service center page.

What to tell us when you book

The more precise the booking, the more likely the first visit ends in a finished repair. Have these ready:

  • The E-Nr from the rating plate. A photo is enough.
  • Which side fails. Say what your five-minute test showed: wash, dry, or the changeover.
  • The symptom, in your own words. "It washes but the clothes come out cold" is more useful than "it's broken".
  • The code, if any, and when it appeared. Filling, washing, draining, spinning, drying.
  • The load. How many kilograms you put in, and which program you used.
  • What you have already tried. If you cleaned the lint filter or the pump filter, say what you found.
  • Age and history. How old the machine is and whether it has been repaired before.
  • Where it is. A built-in machine behind a cabinet panel takes longer to pull out, and the technician needs to know before arriving.
  • Access details. Building name, apartment, parking, and any approval your building management needs for technicians.

A short video of the fault helps, such as the display during a cycle or the sound during drying. Send it by WhatsApp.

How a visit works and the warranty

You book online or by WhatsApp. We confirm a two-hour window, and the technician messages you on WhatsApp 30 minutes before arriving. On site, they diagnose the fault, show you the failed part where possible, and give you a written quote with the part number. You approve or decline. If you approve, the repair is done on that visit when the part is on the van; if the part has to be ordered, you get the lead time before you say yes. We test the machine before we leave, and you receive a VAT invoice with the warranty end date.

Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the parts fitted and the labour for the repaired fault. If the same fault returns inside 90 days, we come back at no charge. We do not describe our parts as original Bosch. The part number is on your invoice, and our spare parts guide shows how to check it. The full process and what we do not cover are on the Bosch service center page.

We repair Bosch washer dryers across Dubai, with typical arrival times of 50 to 75 minutes after the technician sets off. Areas include Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Mirdif and Al Barsha. If your area is not listed, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you before you book. In towers and gated communities, send the building and apartment details with your booking so the technician is on the access list.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to repair a Bosch washer dryer in Dubai?

Most repairs fall between AED 150 and 780, excluding 5% VAT. A blocked filter or hose costs the least, and bearings, motors and control modules the most. The AED 99 inspection is deducted from the repair if you go ahead, and the quote is fixed before work starts.

Why does my Bosch washer dryer wash but not dry?

A common cause is a load larger than the drying capacity, which is smaller than the wash capacity. If the load is right, check the lint filter and the program, then message us on WhatsApp. The heater, a temperature or moisture sensor, or a blocked condenser path are the usual faults.

How much can I dry in a Bosch washer dryer?

Check the drying capacity on the front of your machine or in the manual. It is lower than the wash capacity. Bosch lists 10 kg for washing and 6 kg for drying on one Serie 6 model, for example. Drying a smaller load gives better results than drying a full one.

Is it worth repairing a Bosch washer dryer?

Usually, if the machine is under about ten years old and the repair costs less than half of a new equivalent. Heaters, sensors, pumps, door seals and inlet valves are routine repairs. Bearings and control modules deserve a closer look at the machine's age and condition.

Can you repair it the same day?

Book before 4 pm and in most areas we visit the same day. If the part is on the van, the repair is finished in that visit. If it has to be ordered, we give you the lead time first.

What do the drying error codes mean?

They differ by range, and we have not found a published Bosch table for washer dryers that we can trust. Photograph the display, note when in the cycle it appeared, and send it to us. We read the code for your exact E-Nr.

Can I keep using it until the technician arrives?

If the fault is slow or incomplete drying, you can keep washing and dry on a line or rack. Stop completely if there is a leak, a burning smell, a tripping switch, or a code you cannot explain.

Do you carry parts for my model?

We carry the common parts for popular Bosch models: pumps, door seals, inlet valves and sensors. Model-specific parts, such as heaters and control modules, are ordered once the fault is confirmed. Send the E-Nr before the visit and we check availability in advance.

Will a repair affect my Bosch warranty?

That depends on your warranty terms, and we cannot read them for you. If your machine is still in Bosch's warranty period, call Bosch first. If the warranty has ended, there is nothing to affect, and our 90-day warranty covers the repair we make.

Book a repair

Tell us the model, which side fails and any code on the display, and we confirm a time window by message. Send us a WhatsApp message with a photo of the fault and the rating plate, or use the online booking form. Prices shown exclude 5% VAT.
