Bosch Washing Machine Control Board Repair Dubai

Bosch washing machine control board, module or PCB: what Bosch checks before it, which symptom points where, repair or replace, and what it costs in Dubai.

Bosch Washing Machine Control Board Repair and Replacement in Dubai

When a Bosch washing machine goes dead, owners search for "control board", "circuit board" or "PCB" and expect a part. Bosch's own support pages take a different route. For a washing machine that will not turn on or will not start a programme, the UK and Singapore pages check the plug, the socket, the fuse, the breaker, the door and the Start button, and the US error list says to switch off and on. None of them names a board. Whatever you read online about a failed board, none of it comes from those pages.

This page follows Bosch's order. It sets out what each page says, which symptom points where, the checks that belong to you, and then what a control board repair or replacement involves in Dubai and what it costs. It also says what the sources leave open, because there is a lot Bosch does not publish about the module.

We repair Bosch appliances. We are an independent company and not an authorised Bosch agent. Where this page says "Bosch says", it names the page and the country. Where it says "ours", it is our own reading from repair visits. If your washing machine is inside Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch first. Our Bosch customer care guide lists the official channels, and our washing machine repair page has the full price table.

At a glance

  • Bosch UK and Singapore's "not turning on" pages list only the plug, switch, socket, plug fuse and circuit breaker. Singapore says "it's likely due to a power issue" and "we advise against attempting repairs yourself". Neither names a control board.
  • Bosch UK and Singapore's "programme not starting" pages give two causes: a door that is not locked (close it until you hear a click) and a Start button pressed wrongly. Hold it for about 1 to 2 seconds. A brief press is not enough, and a long hold gives a double beep and stops the machine starting.
  • Bosch US's washer error list says to switch the appliance off and on, then unplug it for at least 30 seconds, and call support if the code returns. Only E80, "a fault/error in the drive circuit", is marked as something only an authorised technician can clear.
  • No Bosch washer page we read uses the words "control board". The board is our term and the repair sites' term, not Bosch's.
  • Do not open the machine, test wiring or run it after the breaker trips. Water reaching the electronics turns a cheap repair into an expensive one.
  • A module repair in Dubai: typically AED 320 to 750 before 5% VAT, in 60 to 150 minutes. A "won't start" fault that turns out to be the lock or the board falls in AED 250 to 650. Our repairs carry a 90-day warranty.

Control board, control module, PCB: the same part

People use five names for one area of the machine: the control board, the control module, the electronic module, the circuit board and the PCB (printed circuit board). In searches they are interchangeable, and we use them that way. What they describe is the electronics that read the buttons, show the display and switch power to the motor, the pump, the valve and the door lock.

That last sentence is our description of what a board does, not Bosch's. Bosch does not publish an owner-level account of the module on the washing machine pages we read. What its error list does is name circuits. On the US list, the entry for E80 reads "There's a fault/error in the drive circuit", and the advice is that only an authorised technician can clear it.

Why the name matters for a quote

A technician who writes "PCB" on a quote may mean a repair of the existing board, a replacement board of the same part number, or a replacement of a larger module. These are different jobs at different prices. Ask which one, and ask for the part number to be written on the quote and the invoice. Our questions list near the end of the page covers it.

What Bosch's pages say before they reach the board

We read four Bosch washing machine support pages on 2 November 2026, plus the US error list. Bosch updates them, so check the page itself before you rely on a detail.

Page What it covers What it says to do Mentions a board?
Bosch UK, "not turning on" Power supply only Check the plug and switch, test the socket with another device, check the plug fuse (the page says to use a 13 amp fuse), check the circuit breaker, contact an electrician if needed, then book an engineer No
Bosch Singapore, "washing machine is not turning on" "It's likely due to a power issue" The same sequence, then "we advise against attempting repairs yourself" and book an engineer No
Bosch UK, "not starting programme" A door not locked properly. A Start button pressed wrongly Close the door until you hear an audible click. Check for an overloaded drum or washing caught between the door and the housing. Hold Start for about 1 to 2 seconds No
Bosch Singapore, "programme is not starting" The same two causes The same checks, then book an engineer No
Bosch US, washer error codes Codes by message Switch off and on. If the message persists, unplug for at least 30 seconds, then call support with the exact message No board named. E80 is the drive circuit

What the pages share

All four pages move in one direction: simple causes first, then an engineer. None gives a test for the electronics, a cost or a time. None gives a reset for the machine itself, apart from the breaker on the "not turning on" pages and the off-and-on step on the US list.

The Start button hold

This is the finding most worth knowing, because it is free. Bosch UK and Singapore both say a programme needs the Start button held for about 1 to 2 seconds. A quick tap does not start it, and holding it too long gives a double beep and stops the machine starting. The UK page describes the second as a safeguard against accidental starts. A machine that looks dead after a quick press is working as designed. Our reset guide notes that one manual gives a different hold, 5 seconds, for the child lock, so do not confuse the two.

What the pages leave out

  • Any statement that a board can fail, or what it looks like when it does.
  • A test the owner can do for the electronics.
  • A reset that goes beyond switching off and unplugging.
  • Any cost, time or warranty position for an electronics fault.
  • Whether the Bosch UAE site has a matching page. We found no UAE page on a washing machine that will not turn on. Bosch UAE does list the BSH line, 048030400, and a large-appliance line, 600 522 553, on its support pages.

What the US error list says about electronics

The Bosch US washer error list is the only Bosch source we found that names a circuit fault. We read it on 2 November 2026.

Code or group What Bosch's list says What it tells the owner
E80 "There's a fault/error in the drive circuit" Only an authorised technician can clear this fault. Call Bosch Customer Support
Other fault codes The list's general instruction Switch off and on. If the message persists, unplug for at least 30 seconds, reconnect, and call support if it returns, giving the exact message

How to read this

The general instruction is a power cycle of at least 30 seconds. Our washing machine page gives a shorter one, switching off at the wall for two minutes, which is our own routine. The two are consistent in intent. If you are going to cycle the power, longer is the safer reading of Bosch's wording.

No code on the US washer list uses the words control board, module, PCB, software or electronics. We therefore do not say that any code means a board has failed. Our washing machine page lists E67 as usually the electronic control module. We could not find a Bosch page for E67 and the code appears on repair sites, so treat that row as a repair-site reading and not a Bosch statement.

Which symptom points where

The table gives what Bosch's pages say, what we add (marked "ours") and when to stop and message us.

Symptom Bosch's pages Ours Stop and message us when
Nothing happens, no lights UK and Singapore: plug, socket, plug fuse, breaker A dead socket or a blown plug fuse is common and costs nothing The socket and fuse are fine and the breaker holds
Lights on, will not start a programme UK and Singapore: door click, hold Start for 1 to 2 seconds Start with the door and the child lock The door clicks, the child lock is off and Start is held correctly
Display blank on a good socket Not covered Our washing machine page says this usually means the control module or a door-lock circuit Always, once the socket is proved
Buttons ignored Not covered for washers Child lock first. Our reset guide covers it The child lock is off and a power cut of two minutes changes nothing
Starts, then stops mid-programme Not covered on the pages above Door and load first. Then the lock, the pump and the board The door is clear and it still stops
Trips the breaker when it starts Not covered A stop sign. Water or a wiring fault Always. Do not try again
Code on the display US: switch off and on, unplug 30 seconds, call support A code names a circuit, not a part The code returns after the power cut

The point of the table

Five of the seven rows end in a check that costs nothing. The other two, a blank display on a proven socket and a tripping breaker, are where an inspection is the right step, and even there the diagnosis comes from a test and not from the symptom. We would rather you spent ten minutes on the free checks than AED 99 on a visit that finds a blown plug fuse.

Checks that belong to you, in order

None of these involves opening the machine or touching a wire.

  1. Plug and switch. Bosch UK and Singapore say to make sure the plug is fully seated and the switch is on, if there are no lights.
  2. The socket. Bosch UK and Singapore say to plug in another device, such as a lamp, to see whether the socket has power.
  3. The plug fuse. Bosch UK says to swap the fuse into another appliance's plug, or to fit a known-good fuse in the machine's plug, and to use a 13 amp fuse. That page is written for UK plugs, so check the fuse rating your machine's manual and plug specify.
  4. The breaker. Bosch UK and Singapore say to check whether it has tripped. Bosch says to contact an electrician if more help is needed.
  5. The door. Bosch UK and Singapore say to close the door until you hear a click, to check for an overloaded drum, and to look for washing caught between the door and the housing.
  6. The Start button. Hold it for about 1 to 2 seconds. A brief press will not do, and a long hold gives a double beep.
  7. The child lock. Bosch does not list it on the "not starting" pages we read, but our reset guide covers it as the cheapest thing to rule out. Look for a key or lock symbol on the display.
  8. Cut the power. Bosch US says to switch the appliance off and on, then unplug it for at least 30 seconds if a message persists. Reconnect and try again. The wait times differ by source, and we show them in the next section.
  9. A delayed start. Our washing machine page notes that a delayed start may simply be waiting.

If these fail

Stop there. Bosch UK, Singapore and the US all send you to an engineer after the checks. The AED 99 inspection is how you find out whether the cause is the lock, the board or something else.

How long to cut the power

The sources give three different waits, and we show them rather than pick one.

Source Wait Context
Bosch WAB24166SN manual "Wait for 5 seconds" Troubleshooting entry for "Other displays": switch off the appliance, wait, switch back on
Bosch US washer error list At least 30 seconds Unplug after switching off and on, if the message persists
Our washing machine page Two minutes Our own routine for a machine that will not start

Our reset guide notes that the 5-second figure is the only wait time Bosch's washing machine manuals give, and that the manual does not describe it as a settings reset. Ours, not Bosch's: the longer waits cost you nothing, so use 30 seconds or more, and do it once. If the same fault returns, stop, because a failing part asked to restart again is not helped.

A power cut, a storm or a trip just before it died

If the machine died during a power cut or a trip, what the manuals say about outages is worth knowing, because the cause may be the outage and not a part. Our reset guide sets out the details from eight Bosch manuals.

  • The programme. Three older manuals say the programme continues to run when the power is restored. The drum may still hold water, so look at the display before you open the door.
  • The child lock. Three newer WGB manuals say it stays active after a power cut. A panel that does nothing after an outage may be locked and not broken.
  • The door. It may stay locked, and the manuals describe an emergency release.
  • The panel lights. The WAB24166SN and WIS24167EE manuals ask whether there has been a power failure or a tripped fuse, and say to reset or change the fuses. Check the breaker first.

If the breaker trips again as soon as you restore it, stop. Water may have reached the electrics. Our dishwasher board guide has a longer section on failures that follow a power event, and it makes the same point: Bosch's pages do not tie board faults to power events, so we do not claim a cause.

A dead machine with a locked door and a wet drum

The worst version of this fault is a machine that dies mid-wash with water in the drum, the door locked and laundry inside. The Bosch manuals we read in our reset guide describe an emergency release for this case, and the rules around it matter more than the steps.

  1. Do not open the door if you can see water through the glass. The WAE24469BY, WIS24167EE, WAS287B0GB, WGB256A1GB and WGB256A90 manuals all say so, and the WGB254A0SG warns that escaping water may cause material damage.
  2. Switch the programme selector to Off and pull the mains plug, as the manuals say, if you can reach the plug safely and the floor is dry.
  3. Drain the water first. The newer WGB manuals say the drain pump must be empty. Our E18 guide walks through draining the machine safely.
  4. Use the emergency release only after that. The manuals refer to a maintenance flap or base strip, and the position varies by model. Your booklet shows it for your code.

If the machine is dead, the drum is wet and you cannot do steps 2 to 4 safely, leave it and message us on WhatsApp. A dead machine can wait.

What a technician checks on a dead machine

The order below is ours and not Bosch's. It follows Bosch's own sequence, power first, and adds what a visit allows.

  1. The supply at the machine's plug. The technician measures it, so a dead socket or a blown plug fuse is found in minutes. Bosch's pages put these first, and so do we.
  2. The door and the lock. Whether the door closes, the lock engages and the connection to the lock is sound. Our door lock guide describes this step.
  3. Signs of water or heat on the visible parts and connections that can be reached without opening the module.
  4. The module itself, tested and not guessed. The technician checks whether it receives power and responds, and which circuits are affected. This is the step that separates a board fault from a lock fault.
  5. The quote. It names what was found and what is proposed: a repair, a replacement of the board, or a replacement of the lock.

Steps 1 and 2 cost nothing but time and are covered by the inspection fee. Steps 3 and 4 decide whether you are quoted AED 160 to 340 for a lock or AED 320 to 750 for a module, which is why we do not name the board before we have tested it.

Door lock or board

A machine that will not start can be a door lock fault, a board fault, or a door that is simply not closing. They look the same from the front. Our door lock guide covers the lock end of the question in detail, including the Bosch UK and Singapore pages on a door that will not open or close and a section on how a technician tells a lock from a board. We do not repeat it here.

What this page adds is the order. Ours: a machine that will not start but shows a display and responds to the buttons is more likely a lock, a door or a start problem than a dead board. A machine with no display on a proven socket is the case where the board comes into play, and that is the case our washing machine page describes as usually the control module or a door-lock circuit. The word "usually" is ours and not Bosch's.

The two can happen together

Ours: a lock circuit and a board are connected, because the board is what tells the lock to engage. A technician tests the lock and its connection before condemning the board. If the quote says "board", ask what was tested.

Water and the board

Our washing machine page says that water reaching the control module or the wiring turns a cheap repair into an expensive one, and that it is a safety risk. We say the same here.

Signs that water may be involved

  • A leak you cannot trace to a loose connection you have fixed yourself. Our washing machine page says to stop using the machine.
  • The breaker trips every time you press Start. Our washing machine page says this usually means water has reached the heater or the wiring.
  • A smell of burning, or a warm patch on the machine. Ours: treat either as a stop sign.

What to do

Switch off at the wall, unplug if you can reach the plug safely, and do not run another cycle. Photograph the water and where it appears. Dry the floor. Our door seal guide and drain pump guide cover the usual sources of a leak, and fixing the leak is the first job if water has reached the electronics.

What we cannot say

Bosch's pages do not tie board faults to water, and we cannot say how often water is the cause. We state the safety point and no more. For a general account of how a board can fail, see our dishwasher control board guide, which covers the vocabulary, power events and Home Connect in detail.

Repair or replace the module

A board fault on a washing machine ends in one of three jobs. The technician repairs the existing board, replaces it with a board of the same part, or replaces a larger module of which the board is part. Which one is possible depends on the fault and on the part, and we cannot give you one answer.

What each means

  • Repair. A component on the existing board is replaced or reworked.
  • Replacement with the same part. A board that matches your machine's part number is fitted. The part number must be right. Our washing machine page says two Serie 4 machines with different model numbers can use different pumps, door locks and control modules, so the E-Nr decides.
  • Replacement of a module. The board comes as part of a larger assembly. The quote should say so, and say what it adds.

We state these as the general ways the job can go, in our words, and not as a Bosch description.

Why the E-Nr decides

Send the E-Nr and FD number from the rating plate. Our customer care guide says the plate on a washing machine is usually inside the door opening or on the back panel. With the E-Nr we check the part before the visit. Our spare parts guide explains how Bosch UAE's lookup works and what its washing machine parts page lists, which includes circuit boards and displays.

Motor control and the board

Our washing machine page says that on Bosch's brushless EcoSilence Drive machines, motor faults point to wiring, the control module or bearings. It lists the drive as having no carbon brushes to wear. On those machines, a drum that will not spin has three suspects. Our carbon brushes guide covers when brushes are the cause, and our drum bearing guide covers the third.

We do not describe our parts as original Bosch

The part number is on your quote and your invoice, so you can check it against Bosch's own lookup. If the part we quoted is not available, we tell you before fitting a substitute.

The visit and the cost

The AED 99 inspection includes the visit, the diagnosis and a written quote. If you approve the repair, the AED 99 comes off the repair price. If you decline, it is all you pay.

Typical costs, excluding 5% VAT

Fault What is done Time on site Price (AED)
Control module fault Repair or replace the module 60 to 150 min 320 – 750
Won't start, lock or board Replace the lock, or repair or replace the board 60 to 120 min 250 – 650
Door will not open Release the door, replace the lock actuator 45 to 90 min 160 – 340

These are the ranges on our washing machine page. They are not specific to one model, and we have no separate figure for a board on a particular Serie. The written quote names the part and the work.

What moves a quote

The part matters most. A board costs more than a drain pump, a seal or a filter. Access matters too, since an integrated machine behind a cabinet door takes longer to pull out. And stock: our washing machine page says model-specific parts are ordered once the fault is confirmed, so a board often means a second visit.

A worked example

A Bosch washing machine is dead on a good socket, and the technician finds a failed control module. The all-in price is AED 520, with the AED 99 inspection included. VAT at 5% adds AED 26, so you pay AED 546. If you decline the quote, you pay AED 99 plus AED 4.95 VAT, a total of AED 103.95. This illustrates how the pieces add up within our stated range. It is not a quote for your machine.

The warranty

Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the parts fitted and the labour for the repaired fault. If the same fault returns inside 90 days, we come back at no charge. The warranty ends if the appliance is misused, damaged by a power surge, or opened by someone else.

What a quote for a board should say

A quote that says only "PCB" or "main board" leaves you unable to compare. Ask for these:

  1. What was tested, and what the result was, before the board was blamed.
  2. Whether it is a repair or a replacement, and of what.
  3. The part number, on the quote and again on the invoice.
  4. Whether the part is in stock, and if not, when.
  5. Whether the price includes the visit to fit it.
  6. The warranty on the part and on the labour.
  7. What happens if the fault returns, and whether you pay.
  8. Whether a second fault was found, such as a lock or a pump, and what it adds.

A quote that cannot answer

If the technician cannot say what was tested, treat the quote as a guess. A new board fitted to a fault that was somewhere else costs you the board and leaves the fault. Pay the inspection fee for a proper diagnosis before you pay for a board.

Repair or replace the machine

Our washing machine page gives a workable rule: repair if the machine is under about ten years old and the repair costs less than half of a comparable new machine. Bearings, motors and control modules deserve a closer look than pumps, seals and valves. Compare the written quote with the current price of a new machine. We do not quote retailer prices here.

The same page gives an example with assumed prices: a three-year-old Serie 6 with a control module fault and a quote of AED 700 sits at about 28% of an assumed AED 2,500 new machine, and the machine is young, so repair it. The arithmetic is illustrative, so use your own numbers.

We will tell you when a repair is not worth it. If our advice is to buy new, you owe only the inspection fee.

What the sources leave open

  • Whether any Bosch page for a washing machine names the control board. None of the pages we read does.
  • What E67 means. We found no Bosch page for it. It appears on repair sites.
  • What causes a board to fail. Bosch's pages do not say, and we do not claim a cause.
  • Which Bosch UAE page covers a machine that will not turn on. We found none.
  • How often the Start button hold fixes a "dead" machine. Bosch gives the hold and not a rate.
  • What the 13 amp fuse advice means for UAE plugs. Bosch UK's page is written for UK plugs.
  • Cost, time and warranty on Bosch's side. No page gives them.

What to tell us

Send the E-Nr and FD number from the plate, a photograph of the display or a short video of it, and a line on what the machine does. Say whether any light comes on, whether the buttons respond, whether the door clicks, whether you held Start for one to two seconds, and whether the breaker has tripped. Tell us if water has been near the machine or if there was a power cut or a storm just before it stopped. We confirm a time window and the price range before we set off.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Bosch washing machine dead?

Bosch UK and Singapore say to check the plug, the switch, the socket, the plug fuse and the circuit breaker. Singapore says it is likely a power issue. If those are fine, book an inspection.

Why won't my Bosch washing machine start a programme?

Bosch UK and Singapore give two causes: a door that is not locked, and a Start button pressed wrongly. Close the door until you hear a click, and hold Start for about 1 to 2 seconds.

Do Bosch's pages say the control board has failed?

No Bosch washer page we read uses the words control board. The US error list has one drive circuit entry, E80, which only an authorised technician can clear.

What does error E67 mean on a Bosch washing machine?

We found no Bosch page for E67. Repair sites link it to the electronics. Switch off at the wall for a couple of minutes and restart. If it returns, book an inspection.

Can I replace the control board myself?

We do not recommend it. Bosch Singapore advises against attempting repairs yourself, and the board is mains-connected and sensitive to water. A part matched to the wrong E-Nr is a common way for a repair to fail.

What is the difference between a control board, a module and a PCB?

In searches they mean the same area: the electronics that read the buttons, show the display and switch power. A quote should say whether it is a repair or a replacement and give the part number.

How much does a Bosch washing machine control board repair cost in Dubai?

Typically AED 320 to 750 before 5% VAT, in 60 to 150 minutes. A won't-start fault that is the lock or the board falls in AED 250 to 650. The AED 99 inspection is credited to the repair.

Is it the door lock or the control board?

A machine that shows a display and responds to buttons is more likely a door, lock or start problem. A blank display on a proven socket is where the board becomes the suspect. Our door lock guide covers how a technician tells them apart.

My washing machine trips the breaker. What should I do?

Stop. Do not try again. Our washing machine page says a tripping breaker usually means water has reached the heater or the wiring. Switch off at the wall and book an inspection.

Is the control board covered by Bosch's warranty?

It depends on your warranty and its terms, which Bosch's pages do not give. If you are inside the warranty, contact Bosch first.

Do you carry washing machine control boards?

Our washing machine page says model-specific parts such as control modules are ordered once the fault is confirmed. Send the E-Nr and we check availability before the visit.
